2016 - The Year Of Great Divide - Views From Prabhakar

2016 - The Year Of Great Divide - Views From Prabhakar

As the year draws to a close, it is time to reflect on how we would encapsulate the events of the world into a universal theme. If one were to look for commonalities across nations in 2016 it might well be called 'The Great Divide'. Never in the recent past have people presented such polarised responses to any political event such as Brexit, the US Presidential Elections, the Syrian refugee crisis or even the Great Indian De-monetisation. Never has data been so unpredictable. Nor the numbers seemed so close. Splitting the population of countries into two major groups; those for and those against. And even after the event is over, there has much strife, discussion and unhappiness with the results of seemingly fair and democratic processes.

Is There A Right Time To Retire - Views From Prabhakar

Is There A Right Time To Retire - Views From Prabhakar

It's the kind of question that confronts most men and women at some stage of their life and career. And especially when they have reached the top. Because the top is scary. It is stressful. And as soon as you reach the top, the other more important question that confronts people is 'how long can I stay here?' Imagine that after striving all your life to get to the top, there is still another question to torment you. While the question itself in many ways fuels man's ambitions and desires, it is ironical because it's also responsible for Man's fall from Grace as it were, to borrow a metaphor from the Genesis creation narrative. People who don't retire in time, have every chance of falling.

The Great HR Dieting Dissonance - Learn To Diet The HR Way - Office Diaries

One of the perks of being an HR from TISS (Tissian) is that you get to experience at least 4 Organisations as a Fieldwork Intern. Besides getting technical know-how of Human Resource Management (HRM), Fieldwork is also an interesting case-study of Human Behavior. We are taught Organizational Behavior in detail across the 4 Semesters and if you ask me that is the most interesting part of being an HR student. So welcome to the curious case of the dieting HR fraternity.

Survival Of The Fittest Or Just Competitive Spirit In MBA?

Survival Of The Fittest Or Just Competitive Spirit In MBA?

“Life is a race. If you don’t run fast, you will be a broken egg.” These were the words used in the popular Bollywood film, 3 Idiots. Well, these words define the life of an MBA. MBA aspirants face challenges much before they enter B-schools. Competitive exams take a toll on their lives and give them a taste of the amount of pressure they can anticipate in the future. By then, they realise that it is all about survival. They have survived competing against lakhs of students of the country while taking competitive exams. They have survived among thousands of students appearing for interviews. Now, they have to survive among hundreds of students joining the B-school to eventually grab the best placements of the batch.
