On 12th June 2017 at 9.00 AM IST, 19 freshly out MBA graduates were standing shocked inside the security office at the main entrance of Capgemini financial district campus in Hyderabad. A group of 10-15 people including the E.L.I.T.E. core team was there to welcome them. The ID cards were ready. The training room was open with the E.L.I.T.E. welcome kit on the assigned desks. It also included our business cards-the highlight of the day for me. The joining paperwork was quickly done. By afternoon we had our laptops with us. The day ended with welcome dinner at The Hyatt where we got an opportunity to interact with seniors and leaders. What a welcome! What followed was a 5-week onboarding process which was enriching, exciting, overwhelming and fun.

It was pure serendipity being selected into the inaugural E.L.I.T.E. General Management program but little did I know that as I jump from the velvet comforts of life at a b-school campus, the 5-week on-boarding experience at Capgemini would be even more enthralling.
Sources say that Thomas Alva Edison was the first to use ‘interview’ as a selection tool. Since then there has been no looking back for ‘Interviews’. Starting from kindergarten to jobs, one has to almost always face an interview before becoming the chosen one. There is a lot of helpful and friendly advice available on conducting oneself during interviews. One might wonder, what else I could say that has not been said already. Not much really, but I thought it might be really helpful to compile some interesting and scientific approaches candidates can take to approaching interviews.
The five-week journey in Capgemini as part of the inaugural E.L.I.T.E. program has been nothing short of being a remarkable one. It all started with the core team welcoming us at the beautiful Hyderabad campus. The first day at your job is always the one filled with a lot of excitement and nervousness, same was the case for all the 19 of us. I can safely say that after these five weeks, the excitement is still there but the nervousness has changed to curiosity and eagerness to learn.
