Aditya Birla Group (ABG) backed by a legacy of over 150 years has touched upon the lives of innumerable people. With a global presence in more than 5 continents and 34 countries with employing more than 1 lakh employees from 40+ nationalities and registering itself as a Fortune 500 entity. It becomes very hard to believe that one has never used or came in contact with any one of the ABG’s products or services.
Aditya Birla Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate, headquartered in Worli, Mumbai, India. It operates in 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide. The group was founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857. The group has interests in viscose staple fibre, metals, cement (largest in India), viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbon black, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services.
During my under graduation in Computer Science, I got selected to work for a mobile application development firm in the field of Android Application Development. I was supposed to work in a team of three including me and other 2 software engineers from my college only. Our team was led by a Project manager who had about 5 years of experience in this field. We were supposed to work under him to learn coding in Java to develop Android applications.
Aditya Birla Group has always been a company which immensely contributed to the growth of our nation. Whether it can be in the cement industry where the went on to become the largest cement company in India. It was during my high schooling days I came across the Ultratech cement advertisements. My hometown is in the coastal region which faces heavy rains during the rainy season. The residents did not have access to high-quality cement at affordable prices, Ultratech cement changed this equation. They started educating the customers about the right cement which matches their requirement through the advertisement campaigns. This is when people realized there are good brands which are affordable yet provide premium quality products. Gradually it improved our lives by reducing the maintenance cost of our house.
