I belong to a conventional middle-class family with my father running his own business, my mother being a housewife and a younger brother in college. My parents have done everything in their power to ensure good education and more opportunities for both of us than they got in their life.
Why? the only question which comes to my mind after knowing the impact of mighty Aditya Birla Group, on our life is, why didn't I know it before?
The biggest challenge which I faced was during my work tenure when I was working for an E-commerce website and my role was as Business Development Executive in it. My role was to to expand business and get in more customers. The company in which I worked was in the production of shoes and then they were sold online on different e-commerce websites. As a BDE I had to contact and talk to the sales team of the different e-commerce websites and convince them and establish a deal with them to get the product of my company into the top banners of their company and especially during the festive seasons and offer period. During one such event I was into a team of 5 members and were on the training period and their were different teams but my team came out to be the best in the training program. After that I had to deal with the team of Amazon and till now we were not in a business and we had to contact with them but I with my deligence and commitment contacted and any how established with them and overcome it.
Make use of every opportunity that you get in life. This is one quote that holds good for my life. I would be lying if I say I did not dream of pursuing MBA in IIM A. I wrote my cat exam, and I was no where near that range to get into IIM-A. One more try , and one more failure. But, an interesting MBA life had just begun. I was already 3.8 years experience, with my family situation and personal life, I could not afford to take one more year of preparation. I got selected into TAPMI, a premier MBA institute in the country having a legacy of more than 35 years. ‘When life throws stones at you, make monuments out of them’, tells a wonderful quote.
Marking its presence in almost all sectors, Aditya Birla Group is committed to its structure as a highly diversified conglomerate, including fashion, finance, mining, retail, textile, telecommunications, etc. Aditya Birla Group is a US $ 44.3 billion Corporation and has marked a strong position in the league of Fortune 500 companies. It has over 120,000 employees who belong to different nationalities. So, they have occupied a significant place in the lives of people either directly or indirectly.
As per Indian stereotype, after intermediate examinations, a student is expected to join Engineering, MBBS or Charted accountancy program. I was one among those students who had the glossy anticipation of better pay and chose the decision of joining charted accountancy course. However, within few months I realized that CA study was not to my interest and if I continued my study I will be venturing into a field that I might not be satisfied with. Hence, I decided to change my career path and started preparing for CAT to get admission in a well-known college in India. I was not sure whether my change in career will affect my life in a good or bad way, but at that moment I took a decision and decided to go for an MBA. After a yearlong preparation and wait, I finally got into a reputed B school in India. I was very sure to work hard and get the best out of this program and my efforts didn’t take time to reflect as I got an internship opportunity in Google. This was one of the dream companies for majority of the students in the college and I was the only person selected for the internship in this company. This was one of the major breakthroughs I achieved in recent years, which boosted my confidence level to a new extent. I now reflect and appreciate my decision to leave CA and go for an MBA and am very sure that my future will be full of success and adventures.
Problem is a word that means a situation or issue which is unwelcomed and needed to be dealt with. Problem starts from the child is born to the time it dies. Some problems are large, some problems are small, some problems are life threatening, some problems turn out to be blessings in disguise later.
I believe that I am fortunate to be living in a time when humans are at the threshold of building a sustainable world and are exploring the next frontier of space through the next wave of technological advancements. At this point to wield the skills required to ride the wave and make your contribution to one of the most positive transitions in human history is a dream worth dedicating one’s life for.
