As soon as CAT is over, aspirants willing to get into XLRI Jamshedpur, XIMB, SPJIMR etc. set their eyes on XAT which takes place on 1st Sunday of January every year. XAT also gives the aspirant a chance to redeem oneself after doing silly mistakes in CAT. I was one of those aspirants and gave it all to XAT. What was the result? Attempting a Mock CAT is pretty much like having the courage to put yourself in front of a mirror that shows you the ugliest parts of you in the backdrop of your hearts’ greatest wish for the moment. Sixty times (and I'm not saying that's the ideal number) I put myself out there, and around fifty times I was shattered and almost gave up. You see, there I was studying for hours, covering topics, working out problem after problem but somehow those 180 minutes got the better of me. That in turn made it very difficult for me to analyse what went wrong. My fragile ego would squirm at the thought of witnessing the tragic combination of silly mistakes and desperate guesses interspersed between should-have-beens.

XAT 2019 Analysis And Cutoffs

XAT continued its tradition to end the MBA exam season (for many candidates) on a low note with the toughest paper of the year. Apart from some difficult Verbal questions and some really tricky DM questions, the exam didn’t throw any surprises. The new venture XAT took, this year, was eliminating Essay writing section and throwing a curve ball by not introducing non MCQ type of questions even though the sample paper released 3 days before the exam, stated so.
