Why Aditya Birla Group Is Big In my Life

In the words of Don Draper "Make it simple, but significant". Dressing up for an occasion has always been an indispensible part of my day and so has been Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail. And indeed ABFRL has provided opportunities to celebrate and finding joy in getting dressed up for the day.

Under the banners of Allen Solly, Pantaloons, Peter England, Forever 21, Ralph Lauren, Louis Philippe, and many more, ABFRL is wish granted for fashion enthusiasts.  From targeting different age groups and segments to catering to changing needs I find these lifestyle brands to be very consumer centric and oriented to consumers' updating needs.

For me personally ABFRL has let me experiment the new, to unravel the unknown in style and fashion. The retail formats and the branded apparels let me choose from a wide variety something unique for me and the more I see the more I believe that there is something for everyone. And in this way each person connects to the ABG family. There would not be a person who in one form or other would not have made, knowingly and unknowingly, ABG part of their life.

In my opinion a well dressed person inspires confidence in oneself and in those around them. Going through my wardrobe fills me with exuberance and delight which in turn makes me sharing this energy with my colleagues, my batch mates, and my team.  And what is more important than being a source of positive energy to those around you and the way a simple yet complex thing as dressing right can do this makes me ponder.

How Have I Made An Impact

"Believe in yourself, take on your challenges, dig deep within yourself to conquer fears. Never let anyone bring you down. You got to keep going."

- Chantal Sutherland

If I am asked the main take away from my life till now, without doubt it is going to be this. You got to keep going.

I have seen life as a roller coaster and have learnt one thing, to enjoy the ride. Just like any other person I too have seen ups and downs in my life. What helped me through it? Perseverance.

There was a time some years back when nothing made any sense, my plans were not working, the circumstances were at odds and direction of life seemed to be lost somewhere. I just held on, gave my 100 percent and forgot the rest. Life did jump back and things started falling in places. Holding on and believing in my work brought me where I am.

Things may work in your favor and other times it may notForgetting about the results and focusing on efforts is the mantra I live by.

Some incidents in my life have helped me focus on what really matters. In these fast moving times where competition is all time high and there is always an uncertainty it becomes indispensable to learn what really matters and more importantly who really matters. One fine day taught me this lesson the hard way. Yes there is always a silver lining, a bad day can teach you a lesson for a lifetime, what really matters is to believe that it can.

There will always be downs in one's life, how much hard one tries there will always be barriers. Evolve is the verb I focus on. I would not say that when the problem comes for a second time, one must overcome it then and there. It is not necessary that the new technique will be full proof. Not to repeat the same mistake one made the first time is the key. I have always patted my back when I did not repeat the same mistake the second time. Self motivation is what I have been working on.

It is necessary to be surrounded by people who encourage you and motivate you. But there have been times in my life when there was no one to motivate me and I am sure that many readers would have felt the same sometime in their lives. So I motivated myself, found a reason to move forward towards the goal I set out to achieve in the first place. Being independent, in my opinion, involves being emotionally independent as well.

Tough situations and moments in my life made me rethink my objectives many times. Was quitting an option? Yes, there always is an option to quit and start anew. Did I take that? When I had full faith in myself, in what I intended to do and the change I was expected to bring I did not quit. It is not wrong to go back to square one but I always try to look back at least once to see what all has been done for coming at that point. Does all that matter? Knowing what really matters does help a lot.

Change is the only constant. Adapting thus to change becomes a necessity. I have tried to keep up with life whenever possible and it does not mean to be unsure about oneself it just means to not to be rigid with your thought but to believe in oneself and believe in the fact that one can learn and one can change. I did mistakes, but I gathered them learnt from them, changed my ways and moved on. Moving on is what makes us humans.

All these factors have worked for me in life till now but the backbone always has been self-confidence. Self confidence is not the icing on the cake, it is the cake. I have seen uncertainties in my life, what brought me where I am, what made me what I am is the confidence in myself and in those standing with me.

We may not know the destination and life may not be a simple jolly affair across the gardens but that gives us no excuse to not enjoy the journey. Enjoy whatever small things you can for that is what really matters.
