Part A: Tell us why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life.

My family lives in Jalpaiguri, it is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal. The city is located on the banks of the Teesta River which is the second largest river in West Bengal after the Ganges, on the foothills of the Himalayas. When I was 20 years of age, my parents updated their life insurance policies from a government medical insurance provider to Aditya Birla Health Insurance Limited as the service level previous company was very poor and claim reimbursement took months to get reimbursed.

Life went smoothly till one afternoon my father complained of severe pain in the stomach. During that point in time, I was away from home in Delhi for my studies. After general medicine didn’t work, the local doctor suggested to admit the patient and do checkups, only after that the due course of action will be taken. My mother being the only family member present during that point of time in Jalpaiguri had to do all the hospitalization work all by herself. Thanks to the Aditya Birla Health Insurance Limited that the admission and discharge process was made seamless and cashless. During this tough time, Aditya Birla Group played an important role in our life by being the third helping hand. Being away from home, I now feel more secure.

Part B: How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.

Despite being from a small town with little resources, I had an aspiration of cracking IIT entrance exam. But unlike many of my schoolmates who went to Kota for preparation, I had to resort to locally available tuitions. Seeing my ambition to crack engineering entrance examination my parents admitted me to one of the reputed IIT coaching classes. But four to five months down the line I came to know that they borrowed the money from one of the lenders to finance my coaching. After six months into my coaching I left it citing poor quality of educators as a fabricated reason. I went back to self-preparation mode and was able to crack WB-JEE with 451 rank. This two year journey transformed me as a person with more will power, focus and attitude of finding positivity in every situation.

Fast forward. After 35 months of rich experience working in Reliance Industries Limited, I finally joined IIT Delhi to pursue higher education in the management domain. The journey so far has been a roller coaster ride with each phase leaving behind invaluable experiences to be applied in both personal and professional life. From financial crunch to working 12 hours per day for a month to 16 hours long day in MBA curriculum, life so far has taught me that journey is more important than the final result. Dream big and believe in it. As a man believes, so is he.
