Aditya Birla Group is one of the largest and most renowned conglomerates in India. The offerings by the various subsidiaries of the company ranges from Fashion, UPI, Telecommunication to Cement. Speaking about various offerings by their fashion arm - Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) has always boasted of unparalleled collection to lure the youth. The wide range of collection and the quality of fabric coupled with attractive offers like discounts, cashbacks, loyalty points have made me brand-loyal towards ABFRL. As the tagline for Peter England goes “Beginning of Good Things”, I feel confident when I put on a Peter England shirt for a client meeting or pin it under a blazer before an important interview. Van Heusen’s MyFit provides me an option of choosing what suits me the best from array of fabrics, cuff and collar options. Vibrant collection, fine fabric and finesse defines class and elegance for me. To top it all, Louis Phillipe shoes and tie add a dapper finishing touch to my attire. It is very riveting to walk into Pantaloons or an Allen Solly Store and find iconic pictures of legendary Roger Federer holding the Wimbledon Trophy dressed in Solly Sports T-shirt and trouser. It compelled me to buy Solly Sports sportswear outfits and they are extremely comfortable, elegant and classy to say the least. It inspires me to give my best in the sport and never give up on my ambitions. Another brand that holds a special place in my everyday life is Vodafone-Idea. Staying away from home as I pursue MBA makes me feel nostalgic at times and miss my dear ones back home. Vodafone-Idea ensures that they are just a tap of a button away and I can speak or video-call them irrespective of the location we are at thanks to their superior network quality. To sum it up, Aditya Birla Group plays a very crucial role in two of the most important things in my life – being stylish and well-groomed and staying connected with those living miles away from me.
Post completion of engineering, I worked at AGR Knowledge Services Pvt Ltd, a Consulting and Business Research firm, as an Analyst. My Manager and I had done a study on the consequences of Anti-dumping duties imposed by US on its steel imports from the world. We had executed this assignment for the Cross-commodity team of a leading global mining giant. Client loved the insights and solutions we presented to them supported by qualitative data and numbers. So, the Head of the Cross-commodity team requested us to showcase our work and present the findings to multiple divisions based out of Singapore- namely Steel, Aluminium, Copper and Speciality Metals Division. We saw this as an opportunity to collaborate with those divisions and work with them on assignments and projects. Those divisions could be our future potential clients. We planned to showcase the kind of work AGR does for its clients. It was my first major client presentation. Unfortunately, due to unavoidable circumstances, my Manager pulled out of the meeting at the last minute. The meeting could not be postponed. I initially got nervous thinking how important the meeting is for the firm and that I was all on my own now. However, I composed myself and prepared for the presentation and the pitch. Our CEO accompanied me to the call. The call went exceedingly well as I shared insights about our assignment and how it impacted our Clients and also the potential solution. I received appreciation both from the Client as well as the CEO. I believe I displayed leadership trait at that crucial moment and this incident gave me a great sense of satisfaction that I could contribute in a significant way to my firm.
