I, myself am a regular customer of Allen Solly, Pantaloons, Louis Phillipe and various other fashion brands. The quality of their product as well as service has a huge impact on my buying experience. Further, the group has gotten much stronger in the telecommunication sector as well after the merger of Vodafone-Idea which has significantly improved the call quality and made it cheaper to make calls to any part of the country. Their cement brand i.e. Ultratech Cement has not only been the most preferred brand in the country but has also been favored in other countries as well. It has also provided India with an important identity in the cement industry.
Whenever we used to go to school, I remember my mother packing delicious food for me which I could enjoy during my recess and forget about all my worries and fears. What made it so delicious was not just the love and sweat that my mother put in it but also the freshness that the chapatti maintained since it was wrapped in the freshwrapp. Whenever, I used to open my lunch box, I was greeted with some warm roti that made my stomach happy.
Besides all this, their contribution to our country has also been immense. Their sustainable development model is commendable since they not only focus on the producing the desired product for the mankind but also focus on creating a more sustainable place to live and work. They have also contributed towards the rural population of our country by providing them homes, timely vaccinations to children, opening schools for the overall growth and training people for various roles that they can play in the economy.
In short, The Aditya Birla Group has justified their tagline i.e. Taking India to the World.
Right from the start, I have never been the kind of guy who is good at talking with people, be open about the ideas that I have or share any personal feelings with anybody. I was a complete introvert my whole school life. Although I was quite good at academics. So I always thought that I could make up for this through my academics. But, I was very foolish about this. I got good marks in my 12th and then did my under graduation from Shri Ram College Of Commerce which is the best commerce college of our country. The crowd over there was at another level. Their communication skills and intellect drove chills down my spines. I came to a conclusion that my academics won’t save me this time. I became adamant on improving upon my communication skills and was ready to drive out my fear of speaking in public.
And my college helped me in this in a huge way. I gave a lot of presentations in my class and participated in case discussions as well. In the beginning, I was a little afraid as to how I will be able to speak in front of a large crowd. I fumbled many times, even stopped sometimes during my presentation but I never lost hope. By the end of my first year, I was able to turn myself into a fluent speaker who was no more afraid to give presentations or speak in any kind of interactive sessions. I also sat in a lot of company interviews, got rejected in some of them and got selected in few of them.
So, I guess the journey which actually started with being more of an introvert and studious kind of fellow turned into a gossiper and more open about my view points, ideas. This all changed my personality from an individual to a collaborator.
