“Failure is not fatal, failure is inevitable. If you don’t fail, it perhaps means you aren’t taking enough risks.”
This quote by Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla perfectly encapsulates the strength I gained through some amazing turning points in my life till now. I was a diffident child with a stammer who used to be scared whenever there was socialising or public speaking involved. I hardly spoke and was a backbencher so as to not get noticed by anyone. Things changed when I was introduced to MUNs, the simulation of actual United Nations when I was in 8th grade. As a global politics aficionado, this was the perfect platform to pursue my interest further. In my first MUN session, I stammered while giving my stand as a Myanmar delegate on its human rights violation and was laughed at by some other delegates. Surprisingly, this did not affect me in any way but made me more confident – I wished to speak more and make others listen to my viewpoints. I continued to participate to come out of my shell. I started participating in class discussions and even dabbled with networking in inter-school MUNs. This made me realize the power of perseverance. I continued with this learning and overcame my fear of mathematics after flunking the first mathematics class test in 10th grade and I was the least scorer in my class. I worked hard to uproot this fear and long story short, I majored in Economics and minored in mathematics in college. After listening to others’ life stories and reminiscing my own, I can now appreciate the power of resilience and perseverance in battling against any odd that may occur in our lives. Most battles are fought in our heads and we should not let our insecurities strengthen our fears further. Let no fear come in our way to have that life we believe only could be imagined.
Why Aditya Birla Group Is Big in My Life
Aditya Birla Group, a leading Indian multinational conglomerate plays a pivotal role in every facet of our lives ranging from fashion to telecom services to construction. I am inspired by ABG’s aim to be socially conscious while maintaining sustainability along with business growth. Recently, Birla Cellulose launched Livaeco. Made from raw materials sourced from forests, Livaeco promises minimal usage of water in its manufacturing process and also low greenhouse gas emissions. This is a huge step towards a greener and stronger world. This innovation is a phenomenal contribution to the textile and apparel industry with an environmentally sustainable manufacturing process. Moreover, Aditya Birla Group’s work in healthcare, education, Infrastructure, Model villages, and sustainable livelihood programmes reaches out to more than 7.5 million people annually. These developments inspire me to become a more socially conscious future leader. Through Vodafone Idea network, I am able to connect with people and do my projects timely and efficiently because of the speedy connectivity. Van Heusen suits are definitely the interview musts for me. Pantaloon and Forever21 clothes make my casual days more fun and comfortable.
