Spanned across 35 countries with thousands of employees, Aditya Birla Group is a big Indian multinational conglomerate which has stood tall for so many years in Indian market. Its consumer, shareholders and employees-based mission makes it stand out of the whole crowd. Its vision to focus on each and every business with utmost importance makes it a brand with unique legacy.
It has touched and continues to touch everyone’s life across globe through diversified products and brands. Like everybody else, Aditya Birla Group stands big in my life as well. Born and brought up in a small town of Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, I was not much exposed to various brands. Living a simple life, I didn’t realize that the world was evolving at such a greater pace. My first interaction with Aditya Birla Group happened when my mother started wrapping my lunch in Freshwrapp. I remember, I used to get so pissed when we had to wrap our chapattis in newspaper. It used to leave impressions behind. But when Freshwrapp came, it brought a big smile on the little girl’s face. From that day is today when my wardrobe is filled with Aditya Birla Group’s brands, FOREVER 21 being one of my favourites.
Apart from big brands, there is something else that draws me towards Aditya Birla Group. Its efforts towards going environment friendly with its different products. For example, we have Liva which is a new age naturally created fabric, 100% natural and eco-friendly. Other being its recognition as world’s largest recycler of used beverage cans. Such initiatives, I believe, are urgently required in today’s world and I am glad that ABG works towards making world a better place to live in.
For a multinational conglomerate to become successful requires years of hard work, its share of failures. But what remains the same is the determination to turn all the challenges into success. The same is the case with each of our lives. I too had my journey where challenges might not be that big but, each and every step help me in evolving and understanding things with a different perspective.
My upbringing in a small town of Himachal Pradesh has immensely contributed towards my modest and adjusting attitude. Living the journey of childhood to teenage without much of the available resources helped me understand their value. My father’s journey from a small contractor to a successful businessman has taught me that nothing is impossible if we work and have faith in our vision. His idea of perseverance shaped my thought process and helped me come out to pursue my dreams with no second thoughts.
After my graduation as an Electronics Engineer, I got placed in a leading IT company and was posted at Coimbatore. Working in a diametrically opposite place in comparison to my hometown, brought me face to face with a completely new aspect of life in terms of food, culture, language beliefs, thinking, clothing. It not only helped me in evolving professionally but also personally. The language barriers and attitude of some of the people towards me once almost convinced me to quit, but I stood up. Gradually and eventually, I was able to carve out a niche for myself and win hearts of many. The whole journey, I feel, made me a lot more patient, responsible and social. Making a family away from home with people with entirely different mindsets, I feel was a success for me.
For me, it’s the journey to achieve success that majorly impacts or transforms someone’s personality than success itself. Everybody will have his or her own share of success or failure but what matters is that how he/she implements the learnings in other challenges. It is the journey that makes the destination beautiful.
