“If you want something the whole universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”.
This quote rings true for the journey of my life so far. It’s the story of the time when I started preparing for IIT-JEE. Being from Hindi medium college of U.P Board, I had not much heard about IIT-JEE. It was when I read the news of a person, who had cracked IIT-JEE in the vicinity of our area, featured on the front page of the newspaper, I came to know about IIT-JEE.
It was the time when I had passed out from 12th class. I had no idea where to go and no one to guide me as my parents aren’t much educated. But I always wanted to do something different, something big. So I decided to prepare for IIT-JEE.
I took a gap of one year after my 12th and took admission in a coaching class. It used to take one hour to reach the institute and one hour to return. At the beginning itself, I realized it’s not a cakewalk to crack IIT-JEE because it’s not just me that is ready to work hard there are many others like me who have the same dream and are ready to walk extra miles to achieve their dream. At first, I felt disheartened. But here came the power of determination. I was determined to fight it out and so were my family.
As Yuval Noah Harari says, “It’s not the individual that is powerful. It’s the ability of homo sapiens to work collectively as a group that makes us most powerful species”. My sister developed the habit of studying late night so that I don’t study alone at night and sleep. My parents didn’t give me any extra work so that I could focus only on my studies. My teachers guided me about how to plan my study. And so, I worked hard.
In the month of March, I appeared for the exam of IIT-JEE and guess about the result. Yes, I cleared IIT-JEE. And if I can clear it, I believe anybody can. It’s just the degree of want and if it’s high, the whole universe would conspire in helping you to achieve it.

You achieve one dream and start moving towards another because you realize the joy lies in the journey, not the destination. So I prepared for CAT and got good percentile. It was time for B-schools’ interviews. I went out shopping for my interview along with my father. We laded up at Van Heusen showroom. It didn’t take much time to decide which one to buy. So, I bought one for myself.
And then I insisted my father buy one as well. At first, he said no but after many requests he relented. And I bought one for him as well. I could see a smile on his face and a sense of pride on his son. This is what Aditya Birla Group is all about, it brings a smile on each and everyone’s faces one way or another.
It is present in multiple brands across the world. It helps somewhere someone build their future home with Ultratech cement, connects families and friends to their loved ones far away through Vodafone network, readies someone to face future with its apparel brands and many more.
It made me future-ready and I am thankful for it.
