Conglomerate companies like Aditya Birla, Wipro, Unilever dominate the retail market in the Indian subcontinent as well as other countries. Although a lot of people are using their products and services in their day to day life but are unaware of the parent company and also their impact on the society. Aditya Birla group having a huge product portfolio and having products in almost every sector. Be it Construction, fertilizers, mining or telecom and financial services. Every person has at least used Aditya Birla product or rendered service once in their lifetime. At any given day the product or service of Aditya Birla that I would associate to is the ‘Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Goa’. As I’m born and brought up in Goa, I have a good history with the institute.
As a child I would always dream of getting into the Institute, not because I was Interested in Mathematics and Engineering but also for the kind of reputation the institute has. This was one of the significant reason for me to rise during any fall. One particular of such fall is during standard 10th board. I was totally dejected with my marks and was almost to give up. But inner confidence in me and the dream of getting into a reputed engineering college always pushed me from within. I gave my best for the competitive exams then, but unfortunately couldn’t make through BITS but I could say one thing is that Birla helped me believe in myself and make me realise that ‘every failure has a success story’. I then pursued Mechanical Engineering from Goa college of Engineering and passed in distinction and currently pursuing post-graduation diploma in management in operations from Goa Institute of Management.
