A $44.3 billion corporation, the Aditya Birla Group is active in 14 industry sectors and has achieved global and national leadership in several businesses. Finance, insurance, chemicals, engineering, fibres, mining, fashion, telecom are just a few of the plethora of industry lines this group operates in.
I will talk about the products that I have used the most and still using them and will use them whenever I feel the need of any such product.
One such product line is fashion retail -
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL) is India's first billion-dollar pure-play fashion powerhouse with an elegant bouquet of leading fashion brands and retail formats. Brands like Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Forever 21, Peter England etc. were always the shopping destinations for me and my family. Be it a formal attire, smart casual or elegant dresses, Aditya Birla Group is an umbrella consisting of brands catering every single need. Not just this, but Allen Solly is the first Indian brand to introduce work fashion for women. From ethnic wear to western wear, Pantaloons is always the one stop fashion house for me. I still have the dresses I bought five years back in the same shape and colour. I love both the variety and quality of the clothes that are available at all of the outlets. I have bought clothes from Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Forever 21 and they are all unbeatable.
Another service of Aditya Birla Group that my family is using is the telecom service -
Vodafone-Idea Ltd. is India's largest telecom operator. These two brands combined their strengths to serve even better. More network coverage, newer and smarter technologies, superior services are some of the excellent services provided by the group. The quality of 4G networks that I experience is amazing and uninterrupted. Not just this, but they contribute towards "Digital India" by enabling millions of citizens to connect. Talking to my family real time when I'm here in Goa and they are miles apart in the North, Idea-Vodafone bridges this gap very efficiently for me.
I hope to be flabbergasted by the exploding product line and awesome telecom services of Aditya Birla Group in future. Thank you ABG for touching my life in a simple yet special manner.
Coming to the second part of my article, I will talk about how I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions so far. The picture above the article says "Determination today = Success tomorrow", it's not just another quote but the gist of my life. I completed my undergrad in 2017 and worked in education industry for more than a year. In 2017, I appeared for various MBA entrance exams - CAT, XAT, SNAP, IIFT and what not. I scored pretty well in some exams and got calls from very prestigious B-schools of India. I appeared for the group discussion and interview rounds. I was pretty sure that I will get admission in one of them. But things went the other way round. I was devastated to learn that no college gave me the offer letter and I would have to wait for another year to start working on my dreams.
It was shattering for me to think that I won't be able to complete my MBA within the timeline that I had decided for myself. I took 3-4 days time to gather my determination and will to start fresh for a better tomorrow. I started with a new zeal and newer strength to kick start my preparations to end up in a good B-school. I managed my work with my studies and worked on add on skills alongside. It was a difficult phase for me to keep a stable pace with everything and mold myself into what I want to see me as. I appeared for the same exams again and got little lesser marks than previous year. To be honest, it felt bad but I knew my hard work won't go waste and believed that I'd definitely end up somewhere good.
I gave some 7-8 interviews and converted half of them. Finally, I decided to join Goa Institute of Management and give myself the push I had been waiting for the last two years. It was a difficult time for me to juggle among work, preparations and other add-on things I was doing for me.
I truly believe in the fact that if one is determined to achieve something, one should never give up on the dreams and continuously work upon self to make life better.
