First Brand!!!
How Aditya Birla Group has impacted my life?? I want to answer this question by going back to my childhood days. Well the first ever brand I came to know about is now ABG’s asset. The brand is Peter England. Although, then Peter England was not an ABG brand but, the current association gives me an opportunity to write about my first conscious brand recognition and brand appreciation.
It was 2004, back in my early school days when my father used to get Peter England formal shirts from his office. The excitement of opening a gift made me come across Peter England for the first time. Though I was not a bit aware of the products quality, but somehow the name “Peter England” was tattooed in my mind since then. Gradually more and more of those shirts piled up in my home, which was for my dad, and I was adamant of buying only Peter England clothes. Unfortunately, it was not available for my size.
Well that was my childhood story. And as I grew up, I realised that my childhood brand is now part of a big organization. I have been using the organizations product in every aspect of my life knowingly or unknowingly. My appreciation for ABG’s brand lies mostly in the apparel segment as I use them directly.
The next brand that I could connect myself is “Forever 21”. It’s the name that pulled me towards the brand for the first time. As I started using the products, I could see that it fits completely to my sporty personality and now I admire this brand like no other.
Moving from apparel to non-durable goods, it is Freshwrapp, which has had a great impact on my life. From school tiffin packed in aluminium foil to chapattis wrapped in Rajdhani Express, every time I see any food packed inside an aluminium foil, I get an overwhelming sense of satisfaction.
There is no doubt that ABG has played an imperative role in India and worldwide to ease the life of people. Almost everywhere there is huge impact of ABG on mankind, solving daily problems which remained latent, until ABG realised them proactively and came out with innovative solutions.
Challenges I overcame to achieve my ambitions so far in life.
To my relief, some years back, during my college days I realized that I am unintentionally introvert. Before that awakening, I never thought that me speaking, interacting and socializing less is a serious problem. I was feeling extremely cosy in my comfort zone. Not bothering to involve in social interactions, was something I was ok with.
But during my first job stint, I realised it was killing my productivity. I was missing out on crucial information and was getting ousted from social circles gradually. I was quick to learn that I need to get over this problem else my career growth shall be seriously impacted. Also my job was very much communication oriented. The synergy of my job orientation and realisation helped me immensely to work on my weakness. I made sure I have a lot of content to talk to my client and I used to prepare for every client meeting before hand. Also I delved into You-tube videos for improving the content of my conversations. This though helped me a lot but I still struggled to convince myself to involve in social conversations. After joining GIM to pursue MBA, I was adamant that I would put an calculated amount of time and energy on networking. This would help me grow my social circle as well as help me overcome my lethargy of not communicating enough. I could see empirical evidences that I have been communicating with people like never before and having lots of fruitful as well as casual conversations. I am glad that my efforts are giving me results but now my sole aim is to build on these results. I don’t want to go back to my old personality. Introvert personality.
