What is it, the phenomenon of hearing ‘don't’ before ‘do it’? Has the sound of our conscience been so lowered that it can’t be heard any more? Or is it our very conscience that says ‘don’t’?

Don’t: the word that I heard so frequently, I stopped acting to it. And things started to get tough, but I started to finally do things that I wanted to do. Initially, it was upside down, I had to unlearn what I was taught all my life- to be safe and calculative. It all started after class 12th, when I couldn’t make it to the law institutes I was so ambitious about. The failure bogged me down, and I couldn’t bear to try again. So, I started with my engineering, but I made it a point that whatever I want to do next, I will take full responsibility for that, and I would try until I get it right. I won’t give up, and I won’t listen to “don’t do it”.I will not stop at the failure, and realize the first of failures are bound to happen, but I must make the failures a learning exercise, for future journey.

The realization that failure and criticism is human, endowed me with a freedom to exercise my dreams, ambitions, opinions in a manner that gave me the space to fail and learn. But this realization didn’t come easy! Each day, we may not realize it, has its own disguises which obfuscates the bigger reality from us, making us believe what it wants us to believe-defeat. Every hour and every minute of the clocks we carry in our heads is pre programmed to tell us we are out of time, when in reality time never runs out but our will to do something. When we don’t want to complete something, or we accept we cannot do something, we say, “Time up”, when in reality everyone has time for what they really want to do. Passion never comes with a clock and it never makes excuses.

We live in a subterfuge which we create for ourselves. We never get our heads cleared up with what we want. We know it, but it is too hard to accept. That is what the test is all about. To find out what we want, accept it, and give it its due time. So, whenever I feel like giving up, I don’t give up on the task but I give up on giving up!
