Challenges I overcame to achieve my ambitions

Just as the pure white lotus flower blooms unsoiled in muddy water, our lives, which are supremely noble, can continue to shine even amid life’s harshest realities. – An extremely inspiring quote by Dr Daisaku Ikeda not only helped me deal with obstacles but also made me change for the good.

The most challenging aspect in my life had been a lack of self confidence. I am glad to share that with constant improvement and practice, I could deal with it and now, I am infused with a good level of self confidence which helps me move forward in my career. It took me more than a year to realize that without it, working hard could not be fruitful. Now, be it a group task or speaking in the class or taking the lead, I don’t feel out of place. On the contrary, I feel I am able to handle it quite well.

Other than that, I have had some setbacks in my past that have left me demotivated and unsatisfied, and overcoming them was bit of a challenge for me. I would like to share that today’s millennial should learn about having a calm and composed mindset whenever they get entrapped in a struggle in personal life. I myself felt  that sometimes I would fall in those muddy patches due to my over thinking and anxieties crawling inside my mind. I took these challenges in my stride and instilled an optimistic view.

Amidst all the confusions going on,I had to take the most important decision of either pursuing MBA from a good B-school or taking up a job. Finally, I decided that pursuing MBA would give me more opportunities which will help me to build myself and work on my goals. I was so determined that I must achieve what I am aimed for and must not lose hope. Everything was set well, and my preparation was going at a right pace for the entrance exams but as the results came, I was utterly disappointed. I could not see any good options in front of me. My dream of studying in one of the top B-schools was shattered. But with time, I gained perspective and explored all other options and now, I am happy to be a part of NMIMS, Bangalore wherein I am sure to get the correct guidance and a perfect training for moving up the corporate ladder.
