A firm that is as big as ABG had a significant impression on the lives of billions of people around the world. It has been a part of my life too!
When I was a child, I always aspired to become a pilot one day fascinated by a pilot that was featured in idea sim card advertisement back then. One day when my father bought a new mobile phone, he bought an Idea sim card along with it and I saw the Aditya Birla Group’s logo on it. I was just 9 years old at that time and I did not know anything about the brand. The only impression it had on me that if I want to be a pilot then the Aditya Birla Group logo will have some role in my ahead. The logo got stuck to my memory and I felt as if I am moving towards becoming a Pilot in real life. I felt the same when I encountered the same logo at a cement godown near my house in Goa. I wondered and asked my father “is it the same company that will make me a pilot ?”. He replied – “No, It is one of India's biggest conglomerates who have its presence in various sectors like cement, Textile, aluminum, etc.
In 2011 I visited pantaloons for the first time to buy a formal shirt for my college farewell. It was supposed to be my 1st formal shirt and I wanted to look good wearing one, I bought a Louis Phillipe Shirt influenced by the ad on TV. After six months or so I came to know through an article on a News daily that Louis Phillipe, as well as Van Heusen, are ABG brands. Not only these brands but the entire Pantaloons belonged to ABG. My mind blew off!. So I started researching in detail about ABG and came to know about all its brands.
The most popular service offered by ABG is Idea Limited, which was the first mobile network provider I have ever used. It introduced me to services such as messaging and internet. I still remember my first phone call, cheaper plans from Idea and availability in my town.
The other most popular product that comes to my mind is Peter England. I used to struggle a lot to buy casual shirts, as most of the brands were either too long or too small. The solution I found after a lot of searches was Peter England. The brand which fits me well, good varieties and offers attractive discounts. Now the first store I visit, if I want to buy casual apparels is Peter England.
Apart from the two brands, many more services and products from ABG has impacted our life indirectly, one such example is UltraTech cement. It might be the main ingredient in flyovers, office building, even my college buildings.
In my opinion, most of the individual in India definitely can name at least one product from ABG that has impacted their life. The initiatives in the areas such as health care, education, infrastructure and advancements in improving connectivity have enabled India to excel.
