Sooner or later throughout everyday life, we as a whole experience a battle. Be that as it may, we get the opportunity to pick how we react to it. We have the control to build an unrelenting mindset. Any successful person alive today is a living testimony to that infinite capacity of the human potential. Like any other muscle in our body, the ability to defeat challenges should be worked out. This ability is, in fact, the most important muscle to build, since it gives us the courage to confront any challenge life tosses in our direction.
SIMSREE is a student-driven college. From conducting admissions to campus placements, from scheduling lectures to organizing events everything is done by the student body. There are in total 9 committees in our college. I am a part of one such committee, Student Social Responsibility Committee (SSR). It is an initiative to engage the students, community and others in continuous efforts towards doing their part in social upliftment. We organize is the annual socio-cultural festival, MRUDAGANDHA that aims at catering to one specific social cause each year. For this, we prepared a deck for our sponsors. The sponsors were unhappy with my team’s first draft, so we were tasked with redoing the entire thing. We planned for a brainstorming session that evening. This was challenging because it was my first time preparing a deck and also our one last chance to make the sponsors happy again. I overcame this challenge by looking at previously fruitful presentations for the sponsors, my seniors helped me with this, analysing the comments they made on our first proposal and integrating all of the team’s ideas into the new deck. The sponsor company was ultimately exhilarated with the fresh plan and all of the new ideas we included!
In my life so far, I have learnt, to overcome any challenge we need to first welcome that adversity then focuses on the positives with a strong team. We need to go back to all those memories who robbed our morale and we should create new meanings to them. We need to stand tall no matter what. To understand every piece of the puzzle we should we able to step into someone else’s shoes. We need to use confident language and ask questions. If we are persistent enough to get everything on track, we lead a beautiful journey with no regrets.
