7th May 2016, I wrote my final engineering exam with no job in my hand. I had an option to join my father’s business but I wanted to do something different. I tried my hands at various things which I would be explaining in this article.

Firstly, I Co-founded an education startup named “Let’s Learn” whch aimed at providing robotics and bridge designing workshop to school students. We were a team of 3 desperately trying to make our mark. We worked on this idea for 3 months but eventually failed due to loss of perseverance in all of us.

Moving forward, I started teaching school students in private coaching centres to earn. This continued for 5 months when my father called me to help him in his business of milk processing. I was in Noida teaching school kids but had to come back to support my father.

The urge of doing something of my own and a passion of teaching, I started preparing for the post junior teacher in one of country’s prestigious IIT coaching business. I appeared for its entrance exam, cleared it and got a job but to reject it later as it asked me to sign a bond of 3 years.

I again started assisting my father in his business. My usual day started with giving orders to half a dozen force of labourers and it was all going with ease till a day when my whole family encircled me on dining table. My mom had consulted some astrologer according to whom, I could easily nail in IES exam. My mother compelled me to prepare for engineering services and I was not in mood to get convinced. In negotiation, I agreed to prepare for CAT exam. Next week I was sitting in a CAT coaching solving maths problems. I realized this that I am doing it for my family and I should give my best to it. I worked hard for 5 months to appear for CAT’ 2017 on 26th November.

On 12th November, I was diagnosed with dengue which made my heart sink. I came back to my hometown to get proper treatment and diet. I returned to practice on 20th November and realized one thing that my scores in mocks has drastically increased after that break. And in subsequence to this I performed well beyond my expectations in CAT.

Fast forward a month, I got 98.26 percentile which soared my heart to highest of the skies. I started preparing for interviews and group discussions and my best call was MDI Gurgaon. I appeared for its interview on 23rd February, 2018 and again performed beyond my expectations.

Fast forward one month more, MDI released its results and I was waitlisted for the admission. Then started the test of my patience which I passed after getting the admission. This journey of 2 years made me realize the strength and endurance I possess. I can relate to ABG’s Ultratech cement on this aspect. Just like the strength of cement increases with passage of time, I feel that I have become strong.
