What does one hope to achieve in life after completion of under graduation? In about 80% of the cases they would want jobs, which instantly becomes a medium for them to show translation of knowledge to earning and stand tall on their two feet and say, “I am capable of it”. Believe me after 25 years of life I am yet to come across a professional feeling that gives you more happiness than seeing the words, “Salary Rs _____, deposited into your account ending…...” for the very first time.
Being a civil engineer, I had a site job and the very first time I visited the site I remember seeing this huge batching plant that was producing concrete like no text book ever explained to me. The name that stood out was “UltraTech” on the transit mixer.
Slowly as days passed, I observed the quality of concrete that was produced through the finish of the building, the performance of the staff employed at the batching plant and the fundamental quality observed was pride. The sense of pride they carried about just by being associated with such a huge name UltraTech associated with the Aditya Birla Group. After this observation I went on a search of my own just to understand what is it that motivates them to deliver everyday with the same spirit and will. Then I found the answer, and saw the company standing up to its promises on all fronts. Be it products or services they gave it everything, but the striking fact found by me was, their efforts in the corporate social responsibility where the company was spending more than what was prescribed to them in the year FY 2016-17 and this trend has continued along till the last year of FY 2018-19. Knowing the margins and understanding the risks associated with the industry for me to comprehend the excess expenditure on CSR was refreshing. This gave me the answer to understand the pride their employees possessed was pride that comes when they know their organisation is one for the people and for betterment of their lives.
In a way I believe Aditya Birla Group was in some capacity responsible for me earning my first salary as without such quality manufacturers, suppliers and logistical support, strong and durable building would not stand tall today. The trust and reputation the Birla name resonates is what assures customers the safety they deserve in their homes that we make.
