PART 1- Why Aditya bIRLA Group is big in my life?
Being an Indian multinational conglomerate, the Aditya Birla group makes an impact on a number of lives which exceeds than their employee count of 120,000. Almost all Indians have experienced one or other product of the Aditya Birla group, one of the basics being usage of roads. The Aditya Birla group’s stakeholders count goes up to millions worldwide, me being one of them.
The fashion divison of Aditya Birla group has always been big in contributing to my wardrobe. As I am writing this piece on a Sunday morning, I am wearing a pantaloons shirt and planning with my friends the next pantaloons trip. The main reason that it plays heavy role is wide range of clothes at a great quality and reasonable price. And when it comes to formal wear, Allen Solly is one stop shop.
The Bandra-Worli sea link has single handedly changed the definition of modern infrastructure in India. This project has opened new possibilities for future architectural developments in the country. This dream project was successful due to UltraTech cement due to its strength to stay strong against mighty ocean waves. Being stuck in heavy traffics of Mumbai is every commuter’s nightmare. Building the Rajiv Gandhi sea link has reduced the traffic by 13% according to a report published last year. And even for someone like me who drives during leisure hours, sea link is perfect route to clear my mind and enjoy roads.
The Aditya Birla group has its existence not only India but around the globe including Egypt, China, Canada, Australia, USA among others which totals up to more than 35 counties. So, it is safe to say the Aditya Birla group is “big” in many lives of the planet including mine providing services in various sectors ranging from telecommunications, finance to e-commerce, mining etc. among others. Started in 1857, Aditya Birla group helped to grow the nation alongside the company itself over the past 162 years.
PART 2- How I overcame a challange to achieve my ambition?
Once Kumar Mangalam Birla (Chairman of Aditya Birla Group) mentioned that “one must follow one’s passion and do something that's close to their heart. And I think that that's very important to be successful and happy.” This is one of the statements that has imprinted in my mind since a long time. At some point in life, each one of us faces a situation that seems like end of the road. For a student it might be scoring low on school tests and for a financially unfortunate person it could be to arrange food for the next day. Each of these situation is nothing but a challenge that one has to overcome in order to be stable in life.
In my small spanned life of 20 years, I have too faced some challenges just like everyone else. It was the year 2014, when I was enjoying my summer vacations when my father called home to inform that we were being transferred to the big city called Bombay! Now it wouldn’t have been such a problem if it were any other year, but it was 2014, the year of my board examination. I was shocked and terrified of what was ahead of me- a whole new city, a whole new state board, new languages to learn all in less than a year and the results of which would reflect on my career for a long time. Challenges were many but solutions were more than that.
I took control of my life and dedicated towards one goal itself which was to excel in my studies and make a mark in the new city. Managing my time efficiently, working hard and positivity are some of the parameters that helped me overcome the challenge. Today, I feel fortunate to face this challenge because the amount of exposure I got in Mumbai, I might not be able to get anywhere else. At the end, it is the challenges that shape us to be the person that we are today and I would always prefer challenges over spoon fed learning to be strong enough to sustain.
