Initiated in 1857 by Mr. Seth Shiv Narayan Birla as a cotton trading business, the Aditya Birla Group has come a long way to become a global powerhouse, with presence across 35 countries, a leader in highly diverse industries - from aluminium to  branded apparels, cement to financial services to telecom, literally with a business for each letter of the alphabet! Not only does it touch our lives in multiple ways from the roads we step on to the way we connect with people, but is something that makes us stand in awe and respect.

In India, sectors such as cement, aluminium, etc. are highly fragmented in nature. However, the Aditya Birla Group has managed to bring the highest levels of professional management to all of the sectors it enters into. We might not know it, but has been a driving force for developing various industries in India.

It not only touches us consumers, but also its employees and subsidiaries with its unique brand of development and transformation.

The future seems even more bright for ABG. Co-development and co-manufacturing is the way forward to achieve the vision of turning India into a global high value manufacturing destination not just for the home market but also for export. India harbours an immense amount of potential that can be tapped into by way of key strategic partnerships that add value across the entire length and breadth of R&D, manufacturing and supply chain. Foreign OEM’s have already started leveraging these benefits, and are encouraging the Indian industry to adopt best practices for global quality standards in their manufacturing processes to lead to the creation of a gold standard supply chain. With a global pioneer such as Aditya Birla Group at the forefront, a truly radiant future awaits, just like the ABG logo.

Part B:

If there are any superheroes in this world, it's our mothers. They always find a solution to our problems. For me, my mother is the primary reason why I was able to improve upon a weakness. Upto 14 years of age, I had a fear of public speaking. In the 9th standard, I got the opportunity to speak in front of thousands of people at the PEAS conference, New Delhi.

This was a chance to overcome my fear. However, I had no idea of how to proceed. Let alone thousands, I would shiver at the thought of speaking on front of ten people. That when my mother took the lead and made sure that I give my best. Firstly, she helped me think of thing that would connect with the audience, largely comprising of students, along with a few dignitaries. Next, she made sure that I knew every word by heart. Finally, she made me face my own self in the mirror. Here, we worked on my stance, emphasis at the right points, ironed out the stutter and the mutters, and made sure that I was alive with expressions and gestures. It was due to this intensive practice that I could overcome my fear here on the D-day. My speech went as i had practised, and not only received a positive response from the audience, but also earned me appreciation from the Chief guest, Ms. Kiran Bedi. This further motivated me to develop my public speaking ability by taking part in various debates, etc. in my college days, an ultimately, to opt for an MBA.
