Part A:

Founded in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla, Aditya Birla Group is one of the first and biggest Indian

multinational conglomerate operating in more than 40 countries. What started as a cotton trade

business in a small town of Rajasthan is currently invested in industries like metals, cement, branded

apparel, chemicals, financial services, telecom and IT services.

My first contact with Aditya Birla group happened in my school days when I went for apparel shopping

at pantaloons in Chandigarh. The variety, service and the cost that Pantaloons offers are some of the

reasons why it has been my favorite shopping destination. Whatever may be the occasion, Pantaloons

has been my go-to destination and it has always lived up to my expectations. As I grew, Peter England

and Louis Philippe kept me connected to ABG. The quality of fabric that these brands have are worth

staying loyal to the brand. Birla Group has also contributed in Indian Telecom industry and I am no

stranger to this as my first sim card was of Idea. Never have I ever faced any issue and I remember how I

enjoyed staying connected to my friends and family over Idea’s network.

Another thing that I can relate to ABG is by a picture on the outer wall of the house I grew up in.

Whenever I visit my parents, that big Image of UltraTech cement is the first thing that I see. So every

time I get a glimpse of the Logo of UltraTech, It reminds me of my home and I think there is no bigger

impact than the feeling of belongingness.

It’s because of these brands that I personally feel connected to Aditya Birla family of companies.

Part B:

How I fought the challenges life posed at me

It is very well said that ‘we grow through what we go through’ and I truly believe in it. Problems and

challenges; who doesn’t have them? Everyone does, it’s just how we deal with them that matters. I have also been

through the hardest of times but over the time I have learnt that the best way to tackle a difficult

situation is to acknowledge it. Early in my childhood I was diagnosed with heart problems due to which I

got rejected in army school after 1 year of hard work. Over the time I developed an interest in tennis

but was opposed by my family due to the health issues I had. My family’s caring nature and empathy

turned into over possessiveness and sympathy. This was the time when my father supported me and

helped me acknowledge the challenge, pick myself up and made me believe in myself. Then there was

no looking back. I won awards in tennis. I also faced challenges while I was studying for my graduation

but the entire experience made me an optimistic person. I am always grateful to the experiences and my

family’s support I have in life. Throughout my life I have found it difficult when it comes to writing. This

imposed a challenge when I was aiming for an MBA but I faced this issue and started writing about technical

stuff and current events. This also helped me gain knowledge about different verticals of the

industries. Now I can confidently say that I can pen down my thoughts about things that

matter in the business world.
