Sasha Shrimankar, whilst pursuing an MMS from SIMSR, was part of two committees: Interface (Marketing Committee) and Humanist (HR Committee). She speaks of her experiences in these committees and how they helped her gain relevant skills for her internship, as well as her career.
Mukul Sharma, PGDM Finance, is a part of the Consultancy Committee and International Business Society. He speaks of how being part of such committees prepares you for real-life situations in the corporate world.

1. Committees prepare you for the corporate world. The way committees function is virtually the same as organisations in the real world. They are structured, with a defined hierarchy, roles, responsibilities, etc.
2. You develop relevant skills like leadership, team work, networking, etc. These skills are extremely important when it comes to being a part of the corporate world. For example: the PR Committee of SIMSR handles the PR activities of the college, giving them real experience.
3. Committees are a good place to network. For example, being part of the Alumni Committee will bring you in contact with reputed alums. You learn how to build relations, which is extremely important in the corporate world.
