When someone asks me today tell me about yourself in 2 lines, I answer engineer by accident and MBA Grad by choice. I don’t think any explanation is needed for the accident part as it is so mainstream in India. Despite the clear disinterest, I managed to study the subjects and maintain a respectable CGPA.

As a result of some persistence with non-relatable engineering subjects, I got placed in Deloitte. This was a peak moment in my life. I had achieved something and was happy. But the reality is if you are meant to do something, then that thing will find its way into your life in one way or the other. I have always been interested in Social Entrepreneurship. I kept it in the backseat always as I was told there was no future (read money) in it.

But in 2018 against all conventional society norms, I left my job to experience working in NGO. I went back to my inner calling. I have worked in 2 different NGOs till date. First one was related to women empowerment and second one related to Skill Based training to Unemployed youth. My parents were worried whether I will be able to get into a B-school with my NGO experience as it was unpaid and can’t be considered as work experience. But I was confident about what was my motive and I concentrated more on the learning than what future holds.

Today I am studying in one of the best B-schools in the country. And the mantra is ‘Be who you are’.
