How I overcame challenges in life so far

A ball travels faster along an uneven path than on a flat, similarly a life with ups and downs is more successful that a plain one. I believe this holds true and it is the challenges that we face and how we overcome them, teaches us the most valuable lessons of our life and leads us towards success.

While growing up, I faced several such situations which challenged me to get the best out of me. When I was 9 years old, my mother had severe shortage of Synovial fluid in her knees and as a result was able to barely walk. My father was posted on a foreign assignment and it would take atleast 3 weeks to come back. Feeling helpless as a kid, through absolute will and my mother’s motivation, I was able to rise up to the situation, learned how to cook, whilst my mother would be sitting on the side giving instructions, learned to shop for grocery and households and got a small sniff of the tremendous amounts of work our parents do to keep the household running. The cooking skills and other learnings have helped me in the long run, when I used to extensively travel for audits during my job in Deloitte and even now in hostel while perusing MBA. Many other challenges which I faced while working or otherwise have helped me grow as a person, develop my skills and have pushed me even harder to achieve my dreams
