How I overcame the challenges of my life to achieve my goal

Being perfectly average at every thing , life had always been a roller coaster ride for me. Growing up in an environment that was hugely competitive, I  often felt bogged down by  unfavourable situations in academics and co-curricular activities.

However, I  had always found peace in reading motivational stuff and writing about the ways that helped me to overcome the obstacles in my path. This regularity  took various forms over the years. Sometimes, it was just penning down  the thoughts, whereas other times it was a real life story that I morphed into a fictional one to express as to what went on with me.

Having done that, every obstacle that I overcame ,irrespective of how big or small it was, by the means of diving deep into my hobby, gave me the push to go on without giving up.

The obstacles ranged from ill -health to time management and further delved into breakups and professional pressures. Something that we all commonly face in our everyday lives, yet find it so difficult to cope with.

My mantra in life has always been facing  these challenges heads on, so that even if I fail at some point of time, it gives me an experience to not re-attempt  the same approach. Instead, I  did and would continue to prefer taking up a  different route altogether.

Most of the time, it were the books that helped me to be resilient and go back to being analytical about the solutions I came  up with.

For the problems I myself could not seek a solution to, talking to someone did.

On matters like stagnation in professional growth due to lack of interest, I decided to reach out to a counsellor , and explain the psychological dilemma that I was going through. Till the time I was 24, I had only figured out things that I did not want to do in my life .On the other hand, my peers appeared sorted and often posted stories about their professional success and whereabouts on social media. It engulfed me in the ‘fear of missing out’ and impacted my health deeply.

It was then that my counsellor explained it to me, that everybody has a different journey and hence, a different baseline to start from. Hence, comparison is absolutely futile and irrelevant in such cases.

I realised that, I did have a mission , which was as simple as either creating a platform or reaching one where I could use my existing skill set to solve real life problems. I just needed to explore as to which kinds of puzzles would I prefer to take. An MBA would have helped me figure out the same. I stopped blaming myself for using the method of elimination to reach to the conclusion.

I reckon that I did have a goal and a vision, but the only thing that clouded it was my insecurity after facing failures.

In my journey so far, I have learnt that it is inevitable, that we all understand these fundamental and unavoidable facts of life to step up to our fullest potential. No reward is more satiating than the satisfaction one gets after giving his/her best.
