I believe I have been fortunate enough to not face a hurdle significant enough to be proud of overcoming it. But the recent one I can recall of is my struggle with travel and balancing work with studies in my journey of 19 months working in an IT industry.
This was a period when I used to travel 28kms everyday to work and was dedicated enough from Day 1 to make it to a good B school as soon as possible. But every day just made me believe life always starts putting you in situations which test your dedication towards your goal.
I had an intense work packet which hardly let me have a breather in my 9.5 hrs. of working. Traveling back home at the peak hours was hectic, and even after reaching home and even after having the dedication to invest time in studies, the body would just give up.
But I believe I had the strength to console myself and not complain about situations, but to just keep trying hard to keep doing what I had to do. There many people around me who are doing extremely well with their work and happens to be reaching their goals; everyone of these have done something beyond their boundaries, to be extraordinary. This healthy competition kept me going and I take this pride in myself to be now associated with one of the good B schools in the country.
