A handful of entities are actually able to prove ‘It’s all in the name’ doctrine.Just like the Sun (Aditya), ABG is a big-league part of our lives, refurbishing it in obvious as well as hidden ways.Like for millions others, ABG is an integral part of my existence. It is the invisible name behind my style, my connectivity to my loved ones, my mobility, my food, my purchasing power and what not.
My family does not understand the word aluminium foil; all we know is Freshwrapp.Freshwrapp is not just a protective covering to my food; each time I see it, the lustrous paper reminds me of my glittering childhood days. The emotions attached to it are beyond articulation and as I am writing about it, I can smell the parathas my mother would pack for lunch in my school days.
Then I moved to college to pursue B.Tech.Every Electrical engineer understands how crucial electrical safety is and how beautifully ABG has contributed to it being the largest Insulator manufacturer in India.Another instance from my college life which I can relate to ABG is my first formal Allen Solly suit which I bought for my interviews (because clothes are never a frivolity).
Coming from a very small town, I was late in introduction to the world of Style. For the past three years I was working in Gurgaon and have been able to discover my style – Thanks to ABG again! I remember the first shopping with my own money – 2 Van Heusen tops.ABG has done more than dressing me for parties, office, family gatherings etc.; it has provided me the confidence to be me.
Thank you ABG for being there at every step of my life and adding value to it!
A life is not important except in the IMPACT it has made on other lives
I personally believe that we are born to make Impact and not Income. Also Impact is not measured by one’s qualifications, certificates or awards; Impact is measured by one’s will to serve the society.I try to take up every opportunity to serve others but here I would like to mention about a specific endeavor.During college days, me and my friends participated in Netritva’14 - University Leadership Hunt.In this program, several teams are assigned different Social issues to work on.Our target was to eliminate the use of Plastic bags from our University market.
Though it started as a competition but all 5 of us took it beyond that.We began approaching people to join us.The Govt. School PTI agreed to support us and along with NSS students, we organized a massive road show.Next, we collected old clothes from Professors’ colony and then gave them to the women in slum area to stich cloth bags.Next day, we seeked help from our classmates and 15 of us stood at different places in market selling these cloth bags for 5 Rs. each so that people discard poly bags. All the money collected was given to the poor women who made those bags. Then we talked to the trade union leader but he was in no mood to provide any support.Seeing our efforts, we were awarded the second prize.
The competition ended but we were determined to make things happen. We wrote a letter to the Vice Chancellor of our University urging him to ban plastic bags on campus. After classes we would go to the Administrative building every day to seek updates. Finally the VC passed an order to discontinue plastic bags usage and till date Pantnagar remains a plastic free campus. In 2017, it emerged as the Cleanest Government Institute in India as per the Ministry of Human Resources Development ranking.
And this is how I feel that I have made an impact!
