IIM Lucknow's summer placement report for the batch of 2020-2022 has been released. This year, Sales and Marketing, Consulting, and Finance were the three most sought after domains for the batch. Top brands on campus included McKinsey & Company, BCG, Unilever, Nestle, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, TAS, ABG, Mahindra, and ITC, amongst others. IIM Lucknow completed summer placements for its largest ever batch entirely virtually due to restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
Key Highlights From IIM Lucknow's Summer Placement Report For The Batch of 2022
The following are the key highlights from IIM Lucknow's latest summer placement report:
- The highest stipend offered stood at Rs. 2.50 lakhs per month, the average stipend stood at Rs. 1.10 lakhs per month, and the median stipend stood at Rs. 1.20 lakhs per month. There has been only a marginal increase in the average stipend from last year, while the median stipend remains unchanged.
- Amazon was, for the second consecutive year, the top recruiter at IIM Lucknow by some margin, extending 34 internship offers to the batch of 2022. Also amongst the top three recruiters were Accenture and the Boston Consulting Group.
- Sales and Marketing was the most sought after domain for the batch, followed by Consulting and Finance. Nearly 70% of the batch of 2022 at IIM Lucknow opted for internships in these domains.
- First time recruiters at the IIM Lucknow campus included Bayer, Electronic Arts, FinIQ, Stryker, and Edelweiss Tokio amongst others.
- IIM Lucknow conducted the entire summer placements process virtually for it's largest ever batch in history.

IIM Lucknow's batch of 2022 received an average stipend of Rs. 1.10 lakhs, which was a marginal increase of 1% over the previous year. The median stipend remained unchanged as compared to the previous year.

Domain-wise, the highest stipend offered was for an internship opportunity in the Finance domain and stood at Rs. 2.5 lakhs. The highest median stipend offered was for the Consulting domain, followed by Operations as well as IT & Analytics. The lowest median stipend was for the Sales and Marketing domain.

Sales And Marketing The Most Sought After Domain For IIM Lucknow's Batch of 2022
Sales and Marketing was, for the second consecutive year, the most sought-after domain for the batch at IIM Lucknow. The preference for this domain has seen a sharp increase in the past three years. Consulting, though the second most sought-after domain for the batch, has seen a decline over the same period.

Amazon Emerges As Largest Recruiter For Second Consecutive Year
Amazon, one of the largest recruiters across top Indian b-school campuses, has emerged as the top recruiter at IIM Lucknow this summer placements season, extending 34 offers to the batch of 2022. Amazon was the largest recruiter for the second consecutive year after extending 31 internship offers to the batch of 2021.
Accenture (17 offers) and the Boston Consulting Group (13 offers) were also amongst the top-three recruiters at IIM Lucknow. The table below captures the top recruiters at IIM Lucknow this year along with the number of internship offers they extended.

The BFSI sector saw participation of companies such as Avendus Capital, Axis Group, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase & Co, L Catterton, RainTree, Spark Capital, Standard Chartered Bank extended roles for their private equity, front end investment banking, equity research, global markets, corporate banking and retail banking roles.
Within the FMCG/Consumer Goods/Telecom/Digital Media sectors, some of the top firms were Ab InBev, Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, Colgate Palmolive, Dabur, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Mondelez, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, RPG, Star TV, Tata Sky and Vodafone Idea. Apart from traditional Sales & Marketing these firms also offered roles in supply chain management, IT, corporate finance and analytics with some of them being exclusive roles for IIM Lucknow.
Some of the firms in the IT/E-commerce/Technology sectors were Adobe, Amazon, Byju's, Capgemini, Cloudtail, Flipkart, Google, Media.net, Microsoft, Samsung, Uber. In addition to roles in IT/Systems, these firms opened roles in category management, sales enablement, business development, supply chain management, product marketing, strategic alliances, program management and analytics.
Accenture Strategy, Alvarez and Marsal, Auctus Advisors, Bain & Co., Deloitte, FinIQ, Kearney, McKinsey & Co., PwC US and The Boston Consulting Group were among the top recruiting firms in the Consulting sector. The General Management domain saw participation from companies such as Aditya Birla Group, JSW, Mahindra, RPG and TAS among others.
