M1: What is the difference between strength and hardness?

Me: Started with the definition. But he didn’t seem to be happy with the answer. So, I switched over to the processes in which they are tested. I elaborated on how compressive tests, tensile tests, and indentation tests are done. We had a discussion on it.

M1: Unit of strength

Me: Nm-2

M1: Difference between cast iron and pig iron.

Me: Explained the difference on the basis of composition and how cast iron is purer than pig iron. Briefly compared their hardness and brittleness.

M1: Difference between Tempering and Annealing.

Me: Stated the difference in the process and how they have an effect on the hardness and overall property of the material. I illustrated it with a sample and we had a brief discussion over martempering and austempering.

M1: What is CRGO?

Me: Didn’t know the answer to this. Later found out that it is cold-rolled grain-oriented steel.

M1: Your goals in life?

Me: Told him.

M1:Why MBA?

Me: Answered it.

M1: What is the meaning of Meghalaya?

Me: It means abode of clouds(M1 and F1 nodded)

(This question was pretty common. Many of the students were asked this. So, I prepared myself well with the geography of the entire state.)

M1: I am done.

F1 continued with the interview.

F1: How did you utilize the lockdown?

Me: Told them how usually I stay in my hostel so these three years I couldn’t spend much time with my family. So, during this time, we cooked, cleaned the house, and talked about the good old days. Apart from that, I learned a lot of things. Wrote a literature review.

F1:What are your weaknesses?

Me: Told her

F1: Name two epics.

Me: Ramayan and Mahabharat

F1: Which one is your favorite?

Me: Ramayan

F1: Who wrote it?
