When I reached Guwahati from Delhi I was left in awestruck by the scenic beauty of Assam. While travelling from Guwahati to Shillong the view was panoramic. The campus of IIM Shillong is located between hills and weather is quite pleasant and it was such a relief after experiencing the heat of Delhi. It is indeed the Campus in Clouds and one is astonished by the surroundings.
What makes it unique is its functioning. From hostel room allocations to every admission process, each step is taken care by the students. They take the responsibility of each activity and toil hard for the smooth processing at the campus. The effectiveness of each committee which is involved in it is commendable and reflects the attitude of IIM Shillong Students.
Another reason why IIM Shillong is different from the other campuses because is it understands the importance of sustainable development and thus includes sustainability as an important aspect in the academic course during the program. It makes the participants aware of the current environmental problems and the effects of industrialization on nature. Thus, making the future managers have that capability to bring out a change in this world. It inculcates the sense of responsibility as a part of this ecosystem towards making the balance in nature and bringing out sustainable development.
This campus is also known for its diversity with a sizeable proportion of girl student enrollment for the program. Students from all educational backgrounds and regions study together which helps in the overall development. A student from these educational backgrounds can help each other in learning. Therefore, peer learning is a very important aspect here at IIM Shillong.
The classrooms are well equipped with all the advanced technology which encourages the participation and involvement of each student. The teaching pedagogy is unique and the at the end of the day there is a lot to learn both from the classrooms and peers. The case study and assignments are given to understand the actual problems faced by the industries and their solutions. Therefore, the practical application of knowledge is the gist of the courses provided.
Apart from this, there are many clubs which are managed by the students and are working for the students of different interest. These clubs not only work in the development of the members in that club in that specific specialization but also promotes the ability to think out of the box by providing live project experiences and competitions.
The things which make a campus unique is not just its infrastructure and location, but also the students who work hard to make the difference.

Provided an opportunity I would like to join Idea Cellular Telecommunication because after completing under graduation I have an interest in telecommunication sector and would like to pursue the same after completion of my MBA graduation. Telecommunication is a very growing industry and there are a lot of opportunities to learn and grow. India is doing very well in this sector on the global scale and it had helped the growth of other sectors like railways, tourism, automobiles etc. as well. Therefore, opting this sector would be a great opportunity to enter into a high growth career.
