ABG has contributed to the development of key business sectors in India which are Agribusiness such as fertilizers, cement in which the group’s business unit Ultratech is the largest cement company in India, non ferrous metals under Hindalco, carbon black’s largest manufacturer in the whole world, branded apparels business under Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd, aluminium , textile , fibre , telecom services and financial services under the umbrella brand of Aditya Birla Capital. Since its establishment, ABG founders played an important supportive role in Indian Freedom Struggle and laid the strong foundations of an economically independent and developing nation. My story to overcome challenges and achieving my ambitions in life
I was born in a middle class family in the small city Patna, capital of Bihar. When I completed my boards exams , I wanted to enroll for a coaching which is usual for students of Bihar to get into esteemed IITs. But I had to restrict my dreams. Nevertheless, I had the options of either enrolling for a private engineering college or a government deemed university in Agra. I chose the latter one due to my family financial constraints. When my journey started in B.tech, I never looked back again . I was one of the top rankers in my college and in my university. I understood very early that perseverance is the only pathway for me to achieve success in life. I have always loved financial independency. Being free to follow your ambitions gives a motive to pursue and train yourself for the hardest struggles you can face in life. I chose to support myself during my college days by giving private tuitions. These helped me to sustain my living expenses as well as kept me occupied from any nuisances. Eventually after college, I was able to qualify for both GATE exam for M.Tech and banking competitive exams like IBPS and SBI PO. I joined SBI PO to experience the industry of banking and financial services. During my tenure of postings in rural areas of Rajasthan such as Barmer, Lunkaransar etc, I kept myself focused to strive for knowledge and skills needed further to qualify MBA exams. I coped up with the rural hardships in Rajasthan for three years, with glee, faith and support from a few friends I made in SBI . Finally keeping my will and enthusiasm strong, I qualified CAT exam for MBA after which I joined IIM Raipur. Facing challenges in life is not unique , but coming out and achieving your ambitions from the grips of struggle gives a positive inspiration, both to yourself and to others around you.
