Dr. Ajai Chowdhry is one of the six founders of HCL. A highly decorated Indian Industry icon; he is an inspiration for young Indians. He is currently the Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Patna. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Jabalpur Engineering College and has completed an Executive Program from the University of Michigan. He was conferred the Honoris Causa, Doctorate of Science by IIT Roorkee. Working closely with the Government of India, he has been part of several Government of India committees and endeavors that aim at increasing IT proliferation in India, and also towards facilitating the growth of the IT and Electronics industry in India. He led the Government of India IT Task Force, established in 2009. The Economic Times adjudged him among “India Inc.’s Most Powerful CEOs” in 2009. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2011.
