Aditya Birla Group, the name itself is the face of history of business in India. Since inception of the group in 1857, nothing could stop them from spreading their wings and fly high. Every person in India must have used an Aditya Birla product, either directly or indirectly.

My story with Aditya Birla is of relations that go beyond their products. My family business was of Ultratech cement distribution.

Since then, Aditya Birla group became a name of trust for everyone at my house. Till this day my father has never worn any other brand except Allen Solly.

I, too, love Van Heusen. It is my first preference for formal clothing. With a large variety of products available with membership of Van Heusen, there is always something more to purchase at Van Heusen store. I continued this trust on the Aditya Birla Group with a further longer relationship and that is the Aditya Birla Sunlife Advantage Fund. It is my first investment in many more future investments. With association of more than a year, I'm already satisfied with the return on my investment.

Aditya Birla is big in my life because a lot of things I use, a lot of CSR activities they do, their mission, everything feels like something bring a change. There is an association with Aditya Birla Group that I believe can never be separated from any Indian. What they say, they are always true to their word. What they do, they always give their best and as an Indian, I believe it must be the same for all.

One such incident happened with me when I was Public Relations Officer at Rotaract Club Chandigarh Himalayan.

I always loved to work for social causes and that led me to join Rotaract Club during my graduation. Rotaract, as a NPO, conducts events that are used to raise funds for their missions. Our mission is named “Happy School”. We adopted a total of 12 happy schools that were funded by us.

So, during one of the fund raiser events, named “Salsa Slam”, we faced a major hurdle a week before the event. We were objected by Municipal Corporation from conducting an event near a bureaucratic society due to noise issues. We sorted this issue by giving a presentation in front of MC officials regarding how our event is linked to a social cause. Once this issue was sorted, we got stuck in another hurdle on Day 2 of the event.

An official of Phonographic Performance Limited restricted us from using sound system at that venue due to unavailability for license. Due to recent changes in rules, we were unaware of such license. The cost of license for one event came up to be Rs 50,000. For an event where we look at earning Rs 1,00,000, license cost was a direct hit on us. Luckily for us, one of the government officials residing nearby who had visited us, curious about the event, was in the same department. We contacted him and he agreed to waive off the fees and restricted it to Rs 5000. That was really a boost for the total revenue of the event. We managed to adopt two more Happy Schools due to this particular event.

This event was full of hurdles for me. But its success made me feel the warmth I always felt inside whenever I did something good.
