At 17 years old, Nabh Gupta, an engineering aspirant thanks to social conditioning and expectations, decided to forgo formal college for a job with Genpact. An Illness made it impossible for Nabh to score well in his class 12 exams (to make the cut for a decent engineering college). In this candid conversation, Nabh shares how he realized early on that he had to create his own future opportunities. Sharing some pearls of wisdom he picked up through his life and choices, Nabh tells us how meeting with a career counsellor changed his career trajectory. He further goes on to share that when you get a disproportionate advantage in any opportunity, getting way more chances to learn and grow, you must take it. He shares how, despite some FOMO about missing out on college life, he still feels his job earned him a lot of experience and skills. Finally, Nabh tells us that despite having no marquee names like IIM or IIT on his resume, his choice to work earned him the perspective that helped him find work he really loves.
