I belong to Lucknow-Capital City of Uttar Pradesh, which is known for chicken clothes.
For any special occasions I use to get a chicken kurta as dress to wear and that dress used to be the identity that I as child use to flaunt.
But being a James Bond fan I always wanted to be in a suit with great formal shirts and jet-black blazers, to like an British spy agentJ. But those options were not available in Lucknow in early 2000’s L. But when Aditya Birla opened its first outlet of premium suiting brand-Van Heusen it was like a dream come true for me; I was seeing myself as JAMES BOND 007.
I still remember trying so hard to pursue my parents for getting me a suit for Deepwali. That was the day that marked a trend around my social circle. I was so confident in that outfit and was the center of attention.
From then Van Heusen has been my formal attire partner; be it college freshers, college farewell, cousins marriage or even in interview for MBA colleges.
When we face our FEARS we GROW
After I graduated from VIT University as Civil Engineer I joined Larsen & Toubro as a GET for a railway project in remote part of Rajasthan. On reporting day at site I was surprised to see the guest house I was given- it was made of temporary frame in a farmers land. People from various good institute were living there in those conditions and working. I made up my mind that I can’t live & work here and decided to quit. Next day when I interacted with my manager, he was generous person who motivated me a little and I decide to give a shot to the opportunity life was giving me. When I interacted with my peers around I learnt a big life lesson-It is people with whom you live make the home and not the facilities available.
I was privileged to get a supporting and encouraging colleagues because of which I developed a family there and had great learning experience and rising career graph.I was able to achieve all this because I faced my fear and continued to explore the given opportunity.
