“Failures, repeated failures, are finger posts on the road to achievement. One fails forward toward success.” This quote by C.S Lewis really sums up what failure means to me. The ability to persevere through the hard times with a positive mindset is important. But, all of us can agree on one thing; sometimes it’s hard. It is hard to be there for yourself when you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom. But, what I have realized from personal as well as the experiences of other people is that there is no rock bottom. Things can always get even worse than they already are. This could be really upsetting or really uplifting to some people. I’ve tried to belong to the latter category. The biggest challenge that I’ve faced is being diagnosed with anxiety and trying not to let it come between me and my dreams. It is difficult for me to lead a normal life as all my friends do. Because of my anxiety issues, I’m not able to settle down in new places and I am used to constantly doubting myself to the point of getting heart palpitations and feeling dizzy. But, ever since I passed out of school, it had been my dream to study economics and then pursue an MBA. Initially, it is difficult for me to settle down in new places. There are many instances when I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it. But, I’ve been blessed with really understanding parents and friends which I’ve always been thankful for. So, long story short, I try to take it one day at a time and so far, I have been able to make it to a reputed B-school such as IMI. But I still have a long way to go and, in an effort to cope with anxiety, I am now the proud owner of at least 20 variants of tea and essential oils!
How ABG has impacted my life
In this age of growing consumerism, products are all around us. To be an integral part of our lives in a world like this is a feat which the Aditya Birla Group has successfully accomplished. Ranging from the roof on our heads to the clothes on our back, they are everywhere. There subsidiaries like UltraTech Cement, Pantaloons Fashion and Retail and especially Vodafone Idea Limited have been well-liked by people all over India. Whenever we think about telecom operators, Vodafone Idea Limited has topped the charts.
Especially in my case, Allen Solly and Van Heusen have been my saviors multiple times. Whenever I head out in search of formal attire, (being a management student, I am constantly in need) I always end up buying it from one of these brands. Especially in case of shirts. The variety and colors are abundant. It has been difficult for me to find such an array of options anywhere else. Also, none of the other brands fit me the way they seem to do.
But that is not all. Buying clothes from ABG is something done infrequently. They are so relevant that my interaction with them has become a daily affair. Everything ranging from groceries to personal need products to stationary is bought by me from More supermarkets which is also an Aditya Birla Group enterprise. The More supermarkets have become so convenient in our fast-paced lives that most of my neighbors shop from there too.
ABG has also done wonders from an ethical viewpoint. Recently due to global warming, the importance of conserving our resources for sustainability has been on everyone’s mind. With so much waste being accumulated in landfills, recycling has become very important. ABG has been the largest recycler when it comes to used cans. Something as small as a beverage we have every now and then is also influenced by the ABG’s enterprise.
Overall, ABG has been one of the major conglomerates which have offered so many opportunities and choice to the people in India as well as internationally. They have been responsible for strong growth for the economy with the rise in infrastructure projects and many technological advancements taking place.
