Part A: Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?
It is very unlikely that we did not used at least one product of the Aditya Birla Group in a day. But, the most memorable and near to my heart experience was a purchase made by me at Van Heusen. Level satisfaction the parents get when their son / daughter starts to stand on his / her own feet is something beyond the scale of measurement. Also, it is a special moment for that son / daughter where he / she proves that the sacrifices made by the parent’s worth it.
The feel of joy and happiness when we assure our parents that every bit and piece of their sacrifice worth it is incomparable. Here comes the role of Aditya Birla Group product in marking that special moment for the rest of my life. The first purchase I did from my first salary was at Van Heusen. It was buying a shirt and a pair of trousers for presenting to my beloved father. It was the first time in my life when I paid something out of what I earned. It remembered me the days when my parents used to buy me clothes where, I used to select what I want and my parents paid for it. It was exactly opposite that day. My father had selected what he want and with a great sense of proud I took out my debit card to make the payment. It was an amazing experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Part B: How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
Learnings from the situations I experienced right from my schooling had a great impact on what I am now. Rising against the odds is what I have developed over the years. Staying away from home right from my 6th class gave me great opportunity of learning how to adjust to the given situations and doing things on my own. It demanded me to stand on my feet and face the situations. This eventually led me towards taking the decisions without any support of others.
Learning from my failures, I developed the habit of giving my 100% and not to give up easily. During my engineering, I had overcome the challenges and improved myself from being an average student in the class to one of those who got selected for a core profile in campus placements. During my tenure at previous organization, I have successfully carried out my job in the area that is completely different from my engineering background. In many of the situations, I had observed that the understanding of a problem changes as it passes up in the organizational hierarchy. I have learned how to stick to the exact problem definition so that it can be tackled in the right way instead of misunderstanding the problem and implementing a wrong solution. Being in Hostel & Mess Committee of IIM Raipur, it gave me a great opportunity to act as interface between the students and management. Being student representative to the management and management representative to students at the same time gave me a great experience of understanding how the challenges would be and also how to tread a tightrope.
