Aditya Birla Group touches millions in the world and I am one amongst them. My father is a part of the Ultratech family hence from a very young age I got introduced to this brand name. I still remember the days when the Aditya Birla Group advertisement saying "Har nirmaan ki jaan." would be coming up on our television and I would be glued to the screen.
I would call up my dad and say that I saw your company's ad on T.V. today. Even today it fills me with immense pride to tell to the world that my father is a part of the ABG family.
Aditya Birla has a plethora of labels under it like The More store, The Collective, Van Heusen, Raven, Ralph Lauren, Ultratech, Birla Carbon so on and so forth. Their existence is widespread in various sectors may that be cement or carbon or textile or aluminium. Besides the industrial presence or the presence in the retail market they also have created quite an impact in the society through there CSR programme Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development by reaching out to almost 7.5 million people.
The 18 charitable hospitals run by the Aditya Birla Group serve more than a million villagers.
Now coming to the reason why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life is because one of their brands has always been there in my moments of little joy and that brand is Pantaloons.
Throughout the year whenever there would be a festival or an occasion to dress up for without even giving a second thought me and my family would head to Pantaloons and I would be literally looking forward to going to Pantaloons because it would have everything from clothes to bags to toys all in together. Going to Pantaloons would actually signify that the festival season has begun.
Being an MBA student, business formals are a must have. One week before joining college I was still in dilemma about getting my jet-black suit and yet again Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) did the job for me. I got my perfect jet-black suit from Van Heusen.
May that be the Freshwrap used by my mother to wrap my tiffin or my jet-black blazer from Van Heusen ABG was always a part of the little joys in my life.
Personal Achievement
For any MBA aspirant, CAT is the most important exam. Your whole MBA career depends on your CAT score. Three months before my CAT exam I had gone for a trip with my friends. The day we were returning I got a severe neck and head ache. I couldn't move my neck as it was locked. We returned home that way. I went to the doctor but the medicines that he gave just worsened my condition. Two days later I was advised for an MRI.
My parents took me to the MRI centre in a car, the pain had become unbearable by then. While returning home I couldn't get down from the car as I had started to lose the senses of my limbs. Soon my hands gave away too and I had to be carried up to my room. Within two hours I was admitted to the hospital. I had a cardiac arrest and the right side of my body was completely numb. The next morning when the doctor came to check up on me he advised for an immediate surgery as I was diagnosed with a cyst in my brain which had grown and
was trapping on my cervical. Twelve days in the hospital and I was finally discharged with bare minimum movement of hands and legs. I couldn't hold on to things or even hold a pen to write. Fifteen days later my stitches were cut and for the first time I tried moving my neck. It felt as if someone was torturing me. Two and a half months of continuous physiotherapy and finally on the day of the CAT exam I went to the centre wrote my exam for three hours like any normal candidate would and made it to one of the top B. School in our country. This to me is my personal achievement towards my ambition in life.
