Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
It’s hard to believe the fact if a person tells you he has never used an ABG product in his lifetime. If anyone does, it would be an outright lie. This is the kind of impact ABG has on everyone’s life. A 44$ US billion corporation, the Aditya Birla Group is active in 14 industry sectors and has achieved global and national leadership in several businesses.
One just has to name an industry sector and there will be a leading industry in that particular sector owned by Aditya Birla Group. Talk about Fashion and Retail, there would be names like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Ralph Lauren, pantaloons, Allen Solly, Forever 21, Peter England and many more. These are all big brands and are leading far ahead from their competitors. Talk about Cement Industry, Ultratech Cement Limited is again owned by ABG. Vodafone India Limited is an Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Group partnership. Thai Rayon, promoted by Grasim Industries Limited, India is an Aditya Birla Group company, and the local Thai entrepreneurs is a pioneer as well as the sole manufacturer of Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) in Thailand. Aditya Birla Insulators is the largest Indian manufacturer of high voltage porcelain insulators around the globe. Hindalco Industries Limited is the metals flagship company of Aditya Birla Group. It is the world's largest aluminum rolling company and is also a leading producer of copper.
There are still many more sectors and many more leading industries owned by ABG. The impact of ABG is huge in everyone’s life. People can be unaware of this fact, but they can’t be ignorant of this fact. The vision of Aditya Birla and the family helped ABG being the third highest profitable global conglomerate. Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group said, “The one important factor that keeps me going is the kind of people I work with”. It’s not always the products and services that give you success, but the senior management vision and mission that makes you unique putting far more impact on everyone’s lives.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far!
Successful people have their own unique way of dealing with problems. Where others see impassable barriers, they see challenges to face and obstacles to beat. They do not allow their confidence to falter in the face of negativity which holds back so many sensible people from accomplishing great things. This is my story where I feel I overcame a challenge to achieve one of my ambition in life at that point in time.
Since childhood, I am really fond of computers and play computer games all day. As I used to spend almost half of my day on computers, I decided to pursue Computer Science Engineering after high school. After giving all the entrance exams, unfortunately I was allotted with a Electronics and Communication stream, in which I had no interest but one teacher at the time of admission told me that you still have the chance to migrate to your desired stream if you end up in top 3 ranks in the first semester considering there would be a vacancy in your desired stream at that particular time. I stayed optimistic and therefore took admission. Now I had only one goal to score a rank in the coming semester. I was never a rank holder in my entire life but somehow, I gave my entire time to reach that particular goal. I scored the second rank in the whole university and hence was promoted to my desired stream.
I don’t know whether this story is inspiring enough for everyone, but it gives me a great amount of motivation and strength whenever I remember that particular time. This experience made me believe that when you treat failures as learning experiences, you will be able to perform better in the future.
