I remember vividly how I was apprised of a school called D.P.S. R.K. Puram by one of my friends when I had given my class 10th exams. It had aroused my curiosity and interest to the point that I had decided to be a part of this great school. Luck favoured the brave and I ended up joining this school. It was tough at start – to cope up with so many new things and new people. A lone boy at the tender age of 16, away from his home and away from his loved ones. The first few months were very hard when I went to hostel right after class X. I had difficulty coping up with new surroundings. I was miserable to the point that my parents thought of calling me back. But my parents and I took a leap of faith and I decided to STAY.
I decided to give this problem some time. I started mingling with people. I started playing sports - I picked up table-tennis. I started playing badminton. From an extremely introvert to an ambivert - with each day I adapted and improved a bit. A large part of me is a result of those two wonderful years. It was an opportunity that came disguised as difficulty. This is also something which I have come to believe in life. A little discomfort, in the beginning, will bear many fruits in future but only if you persevere.
