The Indian multinational conglomerate with a valuation of US $44.3 billion and operating since 1857 has made it big in every sphere of our lives through quality business practises. Be it in the cement industry, or the retail industry, or in the steel industry, ABG has proved to be big each and every time by ensuring that they play an important part in every sphere of life.
As for a Bengali guy like me, Durga Puja has always been the epitome of festivities and is all about new clothing and good food. We start our “pujo shopping spree” a month before the grandest festival. Since childhood, Pantaloons has always been the go-to place for our family for new clothes. Pantaloons, owned by the ABG, and having the concept of multiple branded apparels like Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, etc under one roof has always been the most trusted place for anyone staying in and around Gariahat in Kolkata. ‘MORE’over, the MORE outlet behind Deshopriyo park, near Gariahat, has taken care of every little necessity of shop hoppers around that stretch during the puja days. Even during normal days, there is always something or the other from the MORE outlet present in our home. I have been staying away from home since the past 5 years, and whenever I come back to visit my native, my father always fills up the storage with munchies and on-the-go food from MORE. The Vodafone Idea network has been a life saver to a travel enthusiast like me since I have owned a phone. It had helped me out each and every time I have been in remote places where no other network was able to make a connection.
Just like the way ABG has been revolving around each and every sphere of my life, am sure that it has and always will continue to do so for every individual of the whole nation.
I have always been a person who gets emotionally attached to whatever he does, be it in a game of cricket or in his workplace. Though this has given me immense pleasure when I succeed, it has also put me down at times when the outcome has not been favourable. It is at these times that I have learnt to stand back up and continue to strive for excellence.
Although I have started working in one of the top IT companies in India, I always had zeal to get through a good B-school. My first attempt resulted in a dissatisfactory result and I was down and out even before I started my corporate life. It was my father who acted as my inspiration to fight for what I wanted in the first place. I sorted out my priorities and carried on with my job and started preparing for a second time simultaneously. Though it was really difficult to juggle between work pressure and studies, hard work and persistence got me into one of the best B-schools in the end.
"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller
These simple words have played a big part in every phase of my life, and being a sports enthusiast, I have always believed that teamwork is the key to success. This has proved to be true in many instances in my professional life where helping others rather than competing with them has actually helped me in turn to grow as a greater person individually.
Thus persistency and teamwork has always been the core values for my success in life. Just like ABG has done time and again, one should keep developing on the basis of their core values which one believes in and that is the key to make it big in life. #ABGLPWooMe #IMINewDelhi
