Music is the unbounded transformation of emotions to expressions. I believe that music is the rhythm of nature. It fills the canvas of our soul with paints both bright and dull depending upon our need. It is a constant.
My introduction to music began with my morning prayers in kindergarten. My father and elder brother used to play a mini keyboard on lazy afternoons and pleasant evenings. My father, a musician himself proficient in Tabla and Banjo, would inspire us to pick up music instruments at an early age. My first introduction to western music was in 5th Standard with the song ‘Numb’ by Linkin Park. It was my elder brother who introduced me to different genres of music. As years went by, my horizon ranged from genres from two opposite ends of the musical spectrum. I would listen from Classical Music to Death Metal and everything in between.
The first time I picked up a guitar was in standard 8th at a friend’s place. I went home and asked my parents for a guitar to which they readily agreed. Then began the practise sessions. I never took any formal guitar lessons but learned from online videos. I started performing on stage in standard 10th. The same continued through my intermediate. During my under-graduation years I was a member of the music club of my college and also a band. We would perform in college fests. With the band, I went on to participate in various college competitions where we won a few events. We would play in the state circuit. It always felt alive being on stage.
Besides guitar, I started playing the keyboard and vocals too. With the beginning of post-graduation, the spirit still carries on. The stage will always be my home and music shall always be the path guiding on brightest days and darkest nights.
