There’s this quote by Michael Jordan which I personally relate to “Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it”
MBA from a top b-school as we all know is a dream of many. So was my dream in 2017, but couldn’t perform well enough to secure the final convert into those b-schools. Thus, I was scared that what now, as I wanted to pursue MBA just after my graduation. My family didn’t want me to waste a year and thus of the believe that as you didn’t get into those top b-schools, leave the plan of MBA aside and join the family business and take responsibilities in that.
I had received a mixed of comments and reactions since then. People telling me why do you want to study at the age of 22, instead work in your family business and take it forward. There’s no degree required for it. But contrary to their opinion, I was firm about my decision and eventually convinced my family about a year drop and writing CAT next year. Now, here I am writing this article from the beautiful red bricks campus of IMI Delhi. The journey since then and that year itself taught me some valuable life lessons such that hard work and your effort never goes unpaid, and if you believe in your dream, all obstacles can be tackled. Any obstacles should not dissuade us. Jack Ma’s words “Never give up. Today is hard, tomorrow will be worse, but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine” is best match and apt.
