Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Kolkata Campus’ annual international business summit is all set to receive an astounding launch as Mr. David Rasquinha, Managing Director (Additional Charge), Export-Import Bank of India has will honour the event as the Keynote speaker for this edition. He will express his views on international business and more specifically on Vivaan’s core theme of Industry 4.0, Protectionism and Digitalization and its impact on business and banking. His views on financial inclusion and other government agendas of adoption of digital technologies in Finance and how EXIM bank is contributing to the same would also enlighten the students.
Mr. Rasquinha, is the Deputy Managing Director appointed by the Government on the Board of the Export-Import Bank of India. He holds direct responsibility for the Overseas Lines of Credit, Structured Finance, and Corporate Treasury of the Bank. The functions of the Corporate Affairs, Internal Audit, Board Secretariat, Information Technology and Rajbhasha Groups are also overseen by him.
Mr. Rasquinha joined the Exim Bank in 1985 and since then has had a wide ranging exposure to the broad field of export credit, having worked in the areas of Treasury, Multilateral Agency Funded Projects, Planning & Research, Risk Management, Trade Finance, Project Finance and Project Exports. He served as a member on several Working Groups set up by Reserve Bank of India for working capital finance to software units, facilitation measures for exporters, etc. From 1999 – 2004, he served as Resident Representative at the Bank’s Washington DC Representative.
Mr. Rasquinha secured a first class graduate degree in Economics from Bombay University and followed it up with a post graduate qualification in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur where he was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal in Economics. He has lectured on various aspects of export financing in India and overseas.
An excellent communicator, David has had small humorous pieces published in Indian newspapers and has been active on the social media too.
