Aditya Birla Group is valued at US $44.3 billion so far, a brand that has made a big name for itself over the past 15 years and giant conglomerate that caters to the needs of every person or entity out there, be it in industrial market, Capital goods, Fashion, Health care, Telecomm or Financial services. ABG is a household name alongside the TATAs and Reliance. A company becomes a household name when they have touched or affected one’s life.
I first experience with ABG was when I was gifted my first Van Heusen shirt at the age of 13, at that time I had no idea what Aditya Birla group is or they own the label of this beautiful shirt. The shirt was a rare one, it was a blend of two different color of threads Red and Blue, together it gave a purple color appearance and when looked at it from different angles it was reflective, had gradient look, and showed some a little red and others a little blue. I was the coolest shirt anyone could own. Every occasion I had to impress I wore it and guess what? People got impressed. To some it was magic for others it was revolution, and for me, it was to get someone’s attention and if I was feeling down, good feeling booster, also it was pretty nice that if I wanted to talk to a pretty girl, it was done and I didn’t have to try much as they believed I was too cool anyway.
Without knowing, ABG helped me gained confidence, popularity and add plenty of good times in my life. I way I believe I owe them more than price of that shirt.
Drive, Passion, Dedication are just some traits that come out when I have set goal in mind. I believe change is good and no one should get content with where they are at; ABG certainly did not get where they are at without driving and setting new goals at every step of the way.
Let me tell you what drive and passion can make you achieve. When I was young I loved watching WWE a lot and wanted to wrestle really bad, in 9th grade I got a chance to wrestle, not the one like in WWE sadly, the one on the mat, with buff dudes and sweat flying left and right and bodies grappling to make the pin happen. I learned for a whole and I was trained pretty well, and now it was time to attend my first major tournament in which I have 30 competitors. It started out great, win after win, the Ego was running high, and then came the Semifinal match, that was grueling as I got pinned in a minute and that made any progress I had made and happy moments nullify within seconds. I was emotionally down, which lead me to lose the 3rd place match and I walked out with this coin sized 4th place brown medal. My parents and family were happy cause it was a medal but I wasn’t, I did not want to be content. For the next year, I had trained harder than the previous and was in a better shape but due to an injury I was unable to participate in that years tournament. Which left me craving to just get back to the that tournament.
The third year, I had a different drive and fire to get there, my body had been in the peak of its shape , my technique was becoming master level and I took every precaution to avoid getting hurt even if that meant simply hanging out with friends. Then came the tournament, it started again, win after win, without the happiness this time, reached the semifinals, as soon as I stepped on the mat I got nervous as if it was uncharted territory, but I had to win at all cost because I have put more effort than the guy in front of me, the match started and it was the longest match for me in the tournament, it lasted 4 minutes and I came out winning. It was relief and now it was time to make it all payoff with the final. I went into the match thinking m nothing of it, and it truly was like that, as 30 seconds later I had pinned him and won the tournament in the fastest time. I was happy I won gold but I was more joyous surpassing the barrier. This is how the journey of me becoming the MESAC champion for 3 different countries.
