A quick google research was all that took to get me hooked on to the world of Aditya Birla Group. It surprised me how the company had managed to be omnipresent in my life. I slowly realised this multinational conglomerate is only growing in strength and presence in our country. At the core of its success has been the understanding of where their strengths lie, the patience to see things through and to not be pushovers. The confidence in ABG’s strategy on withstanding Jio’s onslaught is one such example. The carefully planned acquisitions to keep being relevant in the market is another. The Aditya Birla group recently acquired a firm, Jaypore E- Commerce Private Limited which sells ethnic fashion merchandise. It’s a space in which one of my family concern functions. I have almost been amazed at the potential of branded ethnic wear considering the demand at our small enterprise. Its also important to mention the discipline practiced in all ABG business chains is truly amazing. Respect!
I grew up with working parents who had started their own mineral mining and processing firm, both Post graduates – Achan in Business management and Amma in Business Law. A huge part of my early life was spent at the company office or in the back of our family vehicle as my parents juggled dual roles of being business partners and a young couple with a baby. The struggles were real and the success sweet. When the 25-year-old firm that my parents had successfully built up was threatened by a land acquisition order. I could only return to join in winding up the business. My experiences have taught me never to take your opportunities for granted and to value your support system. By joining a premier B- School I hoped to put all my skills and experiences to test and rebuild myself as a Leader adept at tackling any challenge thrown at me. Discipline is one of TAPMI’s forte and I am sure my time in this 37-year-old school will help me mold myself into an asset for my future employer.
