Aditya Birla Group’s impact on my life
Aditya Birla group is one of the biggest conglomerates in India. It is in the league of fortune 500 companies with its operations spread across 34 countries worldwide. The heritage of this successful group dates back to the 19th century. In the early 20th century, the group’s founding father, Ghanshyam Das Birla set up industries in sectors like textiles and fibre, aluminium, chemicals and cement. After this, his grandson, Mr. Aditya Vikram Birla, carried the legacy of the Birla Group forward. My association with Aditya Birla Group dates back to when we constructed our own house. My father is a civil engineer and recommends the use of ultratech cement for the construction of buildings. So when it came to constructing our house, his first choice was ultratech cement. He believes that this cement is the best in the market and provides the best binding to the building. I completely understand his inclination towards ultratech as our house stands firm because of the good quality of cement. The city where I live, Indore, got its first mall in the year 2006. In that mall, pantaloons store was opened. It gave me a wide range of clothing options to choose for my wardrobe. The store has good quality apparels, which are fashionable at the same time. Till date, it is my first choice to shop clothes for any occasion. The next impact Aditya Birla Group had on my life is through the brand Allen Solly. When I was about to begin my MBA journey and was appearing for interviews for various colleges, I had to purchase formals for that purpose. At that point, I came across Allen Solly and bought all my business formals from there. These apparels are of very good quality and are extremely comfortable. All the brands that come under Aditya Birla Group are of extremely good quality and are very reliable. My family and I have chosen these brands as my first choice and will remain with me for a lifetime. I am proud of these brands and Aditya Birla Group as a whole.
Overcoming challenges to achieve my ambitions
Life has not always been a smooth ride for me. I had my share of difficulties in my journey so far. I believe that life is a continuous learning process and we learn so much from the difficulties or challenges faced that we face. They shape us better to face the life ahead. The first challenge that I will be talking about is finding a career outside my field of specialisation in graduation. I have completed my Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Science. Somewhere during my graduation, I realised that I am not inclined towards pursuing a career in engineering and therefore started exploring other options. While exploring career options, I figured out that I am inclined towards pursuing a career in management. Therefore, I decided to pursue MBA and learn the intricacies related to management. It was hard for me to convince my family on switching my career path. However, I persevered against all odds and started preparing for various MBA entrance examinations. My determination and dedication to achieve my goals made my family support my dream of pursuing an MBA.The second challenge that came along my way was to juggle between my work and my MBA preparation. My first attempt at all the entrance examinations was in the year 2017 and I did not succeed in my first attempt. During my second attempt at these exams, I had to juggle between my work and my preparation. I started working as an HR Recruiter in April 2018 and along with that, I was preparing for various MBA exams. It was not easy to manage both the things simultaneously as at the end of a long day at work, I barely had any energy to study. Still, I kept going and made a study plan and followed it religiously. Everything was going fine until one day; my father met with an accident and got his left ankle fractured. It was a tough time for all of us at home, as he needed three months to recover of which one month was complete bed rest. I had to carry out other responsibilities as well and manage them all along with my work and studies. It was a challenge for me to carry out all the things efficiently. I fought against all odds and achieved my dream of studying in a top B school in India. The third challenge that I would like to address is coming away from home for the first time. All through my life, I have stayed in my hometown Indore. Since I got admission in a B school far away from my home, I experienced jitters. It was a tough decision to make for both my family and me. However, my desire to get into this top-notch B school surpassed all feelings of jitters and I was ready to embark on this new journey in my life.
